A bit of a slower week, but our plot continues to move forward. This week, all hell breaks loose as the Jem'Hadar board and try to finally take this station. Until next week: Commodore Thompson ___________________________________________________________________ | W E E K I N R E V I E W | ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ 13 Captain Laura Kingsley watched the view screen as the relief fleet left Star base 22. She was most happy to help Commodore Thompson out of the mess where the Vindicator crew had added relief to SB 369 and the the Dominion and Krivaldi had subsequently attacked the station. Her ship the Berkeley led the small fleet flanked by the Serenity and the Maximus with the Vindicator and Crazy Horse behind them. The ships took off heading for SB 369 with the primary aim of drawing the rear of the Dominion and Krivaldy fleet away from the star base target. This would give Admiral Malone's sons fleet being rerouted from SB 99 time to reach the sb 369 location. As they were about to head into warp the fleet was hailed by the USS-Southerland which offered her services. The Southerland dropped in behind the crazy horse and Vindicator and the fleet went into warp. 15 Gunnery Sergeant Mark Redding was holding his position behind a diuranium bulkhead shield he put together while Southerland was by the computer room door. The marines fired as the Jem Hadar moved forward and attacked. Shots were fired back and fourth and one Jem Hadar climbed the barricade embankment with bayonet pushing forward. Redding butted the Jem Hadar in the stomach knocking the Jem Hadar soldier down. The soldier pulled a knife and Redding had to disarm the soldier. Southerland threw a phaser to Redding whom then ended the fight. The marines continued to hold the computer area against the Jem Hadar. 16 Cadet Anjin Kyotsu was in a fight with a Jem Hadar and the soldier knocked him out and was about to bayonet him when a star fleet marine shot the Jem Hadar soldier. Anjin came too with three Jem Hadar already past him but pulled a Jem Hadar phaser rifle close to him on the floor. Anjin got up and was going to even the odds when he noticed a Krivaldi officer across the corridor appearing to hide and giving orders. Anjin didn't have a shot where he was and tried to crawl closer to the Krivaldi. He hit a panel accidentally knocking it down. One of the Jem Hadar soldiers looked back and came after Anjin. The soldier loomed over him but Anjin picked up the plasma rifle he had in his hand and fired point blank 4 or 5 times into the soldier lifting him into the air. The Jem Hadar banged against the opposite wall attracting the attention of the Krivaldi. He called his soldiers forward but now the marines had moved in. The Krivaldi thought he was out numbered and he and his soldiers retreated. The marines were not able to pros sue due to a ceiling collapse. The marine lieutenant helped the security cadet up. 17 LtCmdr Kryton-Vance was returning to the bridge when the turbo lift cut out between floors. James called engineering to get the lift system fixed since it was the bridge crews escape route if they were over ran up there. He was forced to climb the lift tube up two decks to reach the bridge. On the way he found two Jem Hadar soldiers climbing the tube heading for the bridge. James had to get to the bridge so he had to move forward but fear from his last encounter came over him. What his wife planted in his subconscious took over and he gave the soldiers an illusionary suggestion that he was not there making him invisible. He pulled out and antique knife he was carrying and threw it striking the soldier closest to the access door. The soldier fell and James caught his plasma rifle and immediately fired on the second soldier. James emptied the plasma rifles cartridge cylinder into the soldier cutting through the creatures personal shield. It resulted in the soldiers arm being dismembered and the loss of the weapon he was carrying. The Jem Hadar soldier raced for the access door to the bridge and James caught him hitting him in the mid section. James gave the soldier the suggestion to suffocate himself with his other arm. They both came rolling onto the bridge with the Jem Hadar dying. James informed Lt Vokar of the situation and checked on the EMP weapon. 18 Kendar appeared to be in a perplexing situation with the battle going badly. The founder was not pleased with him and finally their scientists came through with an answer to the federation weapon. They first thought it was a subspace blast wave but later determined that to be a ruse. The scientists finally concluded that a circularly polarized EMP wave was being used. They suggested setting their shields to rotate in a modulation 180 degrees out of phase creating and interference wave thus neutralizing the effect. The Founder was pleased and ordered Kendar to do this and attack. That being done the Dominion moved in on the base pounding it and when the shields finally gave in a troop carrier was sent in and they beamed Jem Hadar aboard the operations level. One Jem Hadar drew a bead on a command ensign getting ready to fire. 19 Vice Admiral Nathan Acheson After completing his contact with Vice Admiral Cerywyn contacted Commander Violator and told him to meet him in the conference room. Commander Violator acknowledged admiral Acheson and started out to the conference room. The two officers meet there and Acheson told Violator about the SB 369 situation that the base had not been taken and that Thompson was trying to hold it. Violator felt that the Dominion was trying to gain an intact base for strategic reasons and that the federation should try to find their entry point into the alpha/beta quadrants. Acheson agreed on this but not at this time. For the present he was putting Violator in charge of a of a relief task force to help hold the base until Admiral Malone's fleet arrived. It was to be called Chin'toka. The task force would be under Commander Violator command until relieved by Admiral Malone or Commodore Thompson. Commander Violator excepted the assignment and headed out to prepare the task force. 20 Commodore Thompson watched as the base continued to take out dominion ships and the spirits were high since it was known that a relief task force was coming. Vokar reported that the photon torpedoe were now exhausted. They continued with phaser fire and Thompson ordered LtCmdr Kryton-Vance to continue firing with the EMP weapon. However Thompson watched as the weapon shimmered off the dominion shields to no avail. LtCmdr Kryton-Vance reported that the dominion had found a counter measure. But their was no time to worry about it now Lt Vokar reported the phaser bundles were damaged and they had gone down. The shields had dropped to 10% as the last torpedo hit taking down the shields. Thompson sent a COM message that the Jem Hadar would be boarding the station as he got his weapons and headed for cover. The Jem Hadar beamed in and Thompson took aim. 21 LtCmdr Kryton-Vance noted the tension on the operations station and briefly thought of his wife and child. It helped him endure. The EMP weapon's long range scanners picked up the approaching relief task force. Lt Vokar confirmed that they were federation ships and sent the identification to the EMP weapons scanner board to be put in the firing solution to prevent accidental attack of these ships by the weapon. Thompson asked Lt Vokar to check on the time of arrival of the federation forces. Lt Vokar determined by the present route and at warp 9 it would be 7 hours and 54 minutes. LtCmdr Vance was called to the operations console and he was informed that tampering with the main power junction had occurred on deck 20. James informed Lt Vokar who sent the message out to his security people and then James asked Engineering to help operations create a by pass for the power junction incase the security and marines can't contain the problem. At that point the Jem Hadar attacked and the EMP weapon was found to be ineffective due to a Dominion change in their shield modulation. They hit the base hard and the shields fell. LtCmdr Kryton-Vance informed Commodore Thompson and Lt Vokar that the base was being boarded. 22 Gunny Sergeant Mark Redding and Sergeant Sutherland were standing guard waiting by the computer core. They decided to take this time to stop and eat and they briefly talked about why they were in the marines as they ate. Suddenly a Jem Hadar soldier entered and Redding and Sutherland went for their weapons. As the soldier got over the bulkhead both Redding and the Jem Hadar fired. Redding hit the soldier in the chest killing him but the soldier scored a hit in Mark Redding's leg. Redding yelled from the pain momentarily as Sutherland called for a medic. The medic took Redding's coat and tied off the wound. Redding had to get himself to sick bay since no one could be spared at this time. 23 Gunny Sergeant Mark Redding hobbled into sick bay with the wound slowly bleeding. The triage nurse placed Mark Redding on a biobed and informed LtCmdr Amanda Jenkins of his presence. She finished with the present patient and went to Redding seeing the bleeding wound. LtCmdr Jenkins got her laser scalpel and immediately went to work repairing the wound. Redding kept asking how bad it was and Amanda indicated it would heal. She finished her work setting the wound and Redding asked if he could go back. Amanda said yes because she didn't feel she could stop him even if he shouldn't. Redding got off the biobed and headed back into the battle zone. 24 1Lt Prescott's marines take on a group of Jem Hadar in 369-Deck 7-Fabrication Section having a heavy fire fight with phaser pulse rifle bolts flying everywhere. Casualties are heavy but they finally cut through. The marines withdraw to a better position 369-Deck 7- Maintenance Shops. They continue their desperate fight highly out- numbered but they use their repeating phaser rifle at a door entry cutting many Jem Hadar down. Then Jem Hadar beam in in back of them making the situation more difficult. The Jem Hadar are beaten after a severe battle with six marines injured but no dead. 1Lt Prescott gets a call from MCapt Velorie that the bridge is being over run and their help is needed on the double.
