The Vindicator has gone one week too many without sim reports, and I'm hoping that this report will prevent certain Fleet Commanders from taking away my comfortable chair on the bridge. I'd like to thank Jim for his work in compiling this report. He continues to do amazing work behind the scenes and it'd be much harder to do this job without his assistance. Until next week: Commodore Thompson ___________________________________________________________________ | W E E K I N R E V I E W | ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ 77 Lt Jackson took over as CEO on the Star base and since the CEO there had been sent back to the Vindicator with the wounded. Akida Listened to Como Thompson's statement over the COM system and set up several damage teams for base repairs. Akida new that the enemy would be coming and wished that it was over and they were sent packing. Akida continued working on the base reports and called Dal to set up a team when he came over. 78 Lt Tatlock's fighters fought well and the holo generators worked as Lt Vokar's weapons did their Job. Tatlock bet the enemy was surprised by the station's weapon and the job it did but the battle was so fierce that they lost 75% of the fighters. It seemed as soon as one enemy fighter was toast three more took their place. Tatlock gave the order for the fighters to return to base and the pilots were then deployed with Lt Prescott. Tatlock felt the job was now up to him and his marines. 79 Nemat'alon was flying in his attack ship and was quit satisfied as to how the battle was going. The Star Base shields were being pounded and everything was working well. Then suddenly the burst struck from the star base and the electrical went out and they lost control. They tried but were unable to regain control and their ship exploded amidst others under going the same fate. Kendar watched the battle unfold and was pleased until he started loosing ships to the star base's unknown weapon. Kendar ordered the big ships to pull back and attack with only the smaller faster ones minimizing their losses. Kendar ordered scientists cloned to work on a solution to the problem and suggested to the founder that they return to dominion space. The founder said no she was confident they would find a solution. They just needed to look at their options. 1 Cable stood by as Cmdr Steele sat in his command chair as they approached SB 22 and worried about his brother and sister back on SB 369. He wanted to be there but had been ordered by Lt Vokar to stay on Vindicator to man security. T'Asir sat at her console waiting to get in range to contact SB 22. As she waited she worried about her brother and had tried to stay as Cable did but Vokar ordered her to stay on the Vindicator. T'Asir scanned for incoming ships as well as the Star Base approach. She was finally in range and contacted SB 22 and turned the channel over to Cmdr Steele. The wounded and injured were transferred to SB 22 and the Vindicator was to return with the few ships that the base had. As the Vindicator headed back T'Asir picked up approaching ships giving the skeleton crew a few frightening minutes but it turned out to be the SB 22 ships sent to accompany the Vindicator. The ship went into formation with the Vindicator and they all headed back to SB 369. 4 As the explosions go off from remote detonation of Velorie's mines by the Jem Hadar one blast takes down Sgt Valen and a LCPL Nel takes over as the Jem Hadar come into the corridor. Nel gets his men back on the there feet and has them firing grenades taking out Jem Hadar in a dark corner. The Jem Hadar return the fire with pulse rifles and deadly accuracy. Then they start firing at the marines with rockets and the marines get back behind their barricade but one rocket finds its mark and the marine squad is history. MCapt Velorie is stunned that the Jem Hadar have beaten through his men so quickly and that they seemed to have been able to neutralize his mines. He orders the marines back to deck 2 and a smaller parameter. 1Lt Prescott dose not agree with Velorie the Jem Hadar have to be stopped where they are or engineering will be over run. Prescott refuses Velorie's order and leaves with his sergeant to stop the Jem Hadar. 5 2Lt Tatlock contacted Commodore Thompson and asked to see him. Thompson told Tatlock to meet him in the crew lounge. Thompson got down there and seated himself shortly after that 2Lt Tatlock arrived. Thompson asked if he wanted anything and Tatlock asked for a brandy. Thompson ordered two drinks and he sat down across from Tatlock to talk. Tatlock informed Thompson that his men and fighters were ready and on SB 369. The two shuttles were ready and tested with hologenerators and signature generators. He also told Thompson that if the weapon worked they were ready to board a Jem Hadar ship. Thompson told Lt Tatlock to be careful on that point because the base could not lay down cover fire. The primary directive was protection of the base. Tatlock concurred and also told Thompson that a canister of nerve gas was on board one of the shuttles and that only Thompson and himself knew about it. Tatlock handed Thompson the padd with the detonation codes. Thompson didn't like the idea of nerve gas but with the Jem Hadar clones they may have no other choice. 2Lt Tatlock took leave to go back to his duties at this point. 6 LtCmdr Kryton-Vance had been at station for 24 hours and noticed the tension developing. One of the tactical officers relieved him for a rest period. James decided to go to engineering first and check on the calibrations Cmdr Dex thought were necessary. James and a security office left on the turbo lift for engineering. James though about his son and his wife and how much he wished he could be with them. He missed them so much he started to cry then the lift stopped and James and the security officer exited to find they were one deck below engineering. The security officer headed for the stairway up to engineering. 7 As the security officer headed to the stairs followed by James a scuffle and noise was heard and the security officer turned and was shot down by a Jem Hadar weapon. James turn to the other corridor and found a marine separated from his unit pinned down by two Jem Hadar soldiers. The Jem Hadar were now concentrating on James. Somehow a memory, a technique that his sebacean wife had placed in his subconscious as he slept with her snapped into place. James mesmerized the two soldiers and the marine into believing that he was not there and they no longer saw him nor were concerned with him. The Jem Hadar returned to the fight with the marine. James ran for them as fast as he could pulling an antique knife and auto magnum gun. James slit the throat of the nearest soldier and then turned to the other Jem Hadar who now realized James was there. James fired the big magnum three times into the soldiers armor killing him. James told the marine whom now realized he was there to take the hand gun to 1Lt Prescott if he needed something to help penetrate that armor and to tell Prescott that several Jem Hadar had nearly reached engineering. The marine left and James then sent the security officer to sick bay for help. James told the engineers whom had been attracted by the noise to seal their deck off and he headed to the Bridge to get help from Lt Vokar. 8 Lt Dudas had been assigned to fix the transceiver array by Akida before the Vindicator left. Dal and CPO Savuk reached the door to the array. Dal was quite nervous but the Vulcan Savuk was quite calm. They pulled their phasers just in case and Dal opened the array door and looked inside. Dal was scared as he was pulled in and the door shut leaving Savuk outside and having his phaser removed from his hand. It was a female fleet officer whom thought he might be a Jem Hadar. Dal explained he was there to fix the array and asked if she would let CPO Savuk in. The female officer agreed and the door was opened letting Savuk in. 9 The Jem Hadar again attacked the star base with this time with light cruisers. During the attack LtCmdr Vance found that a battle frigate had set itself just outside phaser range scanning the EM spectrum. Vance changed polarization modes and destroyed the frigate with the EMP weapon. He reported the incident to Commodore Thompson and LT Vokar and sent the data on the scan to engineering. Cmdr Dex evaluated the scan and reported back to the XO that they were indeed searching for the nature of the new weapon. Cmdr Dex set up a plan to make the Jem Hadar think what the were dealing with was a different type of weapon a subspace blast wave weapon. 10 Engineering confirmed that the Jem Hadar were looking for a weapons solution and Cmdr Dex's program idea was put into place after Commodore Thompson approved it. The Jem Hadar tried another assault and stationed another battleship out beyond phaser range as they engaged the base with light cruisers. Lt Vokar continued fighting taking the cruisers out and Ltcmdr Kryton-Vance targeted the battle ship and initiated the program . The mark VIII s found their target and released the gamma bursts in close a proximity of the battle ship. The wake sent the ship reeling but they got Cmdr Dex's message and retreated temporarily into deep space with the light the remaining light cruisers following close behind. 11 A security officer Chief Warrant Officer 2 Class Mike Johnson was brought into sickbay badly injured from weapons fire. LtCmdr Jenkins received the patient and found that the young officer was in pain and scared to death. She had to first reduce his pain and settle his nerves down. After completing that she made the required medical repairs. She was able to save his life and heal the wounds. But she found that he was still severely traumatized by the experience and Amanda then put him to sleep for a while to help the injuries heal.
