Ryder and O'Neill treat Amanda Jenkins Sickbay Emergency. Having been severely beaten by her ex-partner (Patrick O'Neil), Amanda suffers broken bones and a head injury. Thompson arrives to comfort Amanda in her time of need. Amanda starts suffering neurological effects of her injury with blurring of her vision. 35 ** Seeing the need for a more detailed imaging study of Amanda's head, Dr. O'Neill explains to Thompson about an N-CT scan. Amanda is sedated and intubated; while unconscious, she attempts to communicated telepathically with the CO. Unfortunately, Thompson is unable to reply, and leaves for the bridge. He requests to be updated from the doctors. 36 Como Thompson finished reading the combat readiness report from Lt Jackson. Vice Admiral Acheson was getting a bit impatient and the other department heads had reported in ready. Thompson gave Helm the order to leave at 1/4 impulse. The Vindicator left and exited the space doors and headed of into space at warp 8. Thompson asked Ens Vokar to increase the tactical from a three shift to four shift routine feeling there may be trouble ahead. 38 Ens Vokar came up on the bridge and relieved the present tactical officer he wanted to be on station when they left. Thomson order the Vindicator to leave and Ens Vokar watched as this unfolded. Thompson gave the order for him to change the shift rotation from three to four shifts. Vokar replied "Aye Sir." as Thompson retired to the ready room. Vokar checked his shift roster and decided to place himself one, T'Asir on an other, and T'Pira on a third shift. Vokar noted that the tactical consol was giving the names of ships with transponders that Vokar could look up the information about specifications armament etc. 39 LtCmdr Jenkins was very groggy and only partially aware of her surrounding but she did hear the steady beeping of life support machines. She seemed to hear and notice a nurse came to her and told her she was doing well after the surgery and to rest. Amanda only gave a week smile and mumbled something about being in discomfort. The nurse smiled and gave her a hypo spray and told her to rest the medicine immediately took effect and Amanda drifted off to dream land. 41 2Lt Prescott looks over his marines and platoons wearing their eva suits and back packs with their shell helmets to their side and phaser rifles slung over their shoulder. He is worried that after all the weeks of preparation and comprehensive training that inevitably some will die in battle with the Krivaldi. However, Prescott realizes in the end its the job they have volunteered to do. 2Lt Prescott addresses his men and tells them that they will be teaching the Krivaldi a lesson they won't forget and there weapon will be the teacher as well as save the marines. Prescott finishes and heads off to his office to review for an up coming meeting. 42 LtCmdr James Kryton-Vance and Lt Erin Kryton-Vance were working on the main lateral sensor array the sensitivity and output had fallen way down. James pulled the paneling and Erin shut the power off and James checked the relays and caps with the tricorder. Finding nothing wrong there Erin got down under and checked the detector board. Erin found the problem there so James pulled the board out and they checked it thoroughly. The oscillator was out of tune and the main amplifier was weak. Erin retrieved another amplifier while James retuned the oscillator. The amplifier was replaced and the board was reinstalled in the unit and the diagnostics were rerun. James and Erin were delighted to find everything now in the green. 43 James looked over the tanks in the hydroponics labs and hardware and everything appeared ok. Erin felt James was getting a bit tired and got him some hot Earl gray tea. James had some which made him feel a little better. James found the problem a bad ballast capacitator and replaced it. Erin finally got her tanks up and into equilibrium so that she could plant in the morning. James finished his tea and kissed Erin and she spirited James off to the nursery to pick up their son Kyle and home. 44 Erin and James came back to their quarters and it was a little late Erin feed Kyle and James made up the beds. Once Erin finished feeding Kyle she chanced the sleepy little ones diapers. James came in and Erin gave Kyle to James and he put Kyle to bed and watched his son sleep for a bit. James did this until Erin got his attention and shoed him off to the shower. James returned to check shortly on Kyle then headed for his wife Erin. James loved Erin and Erin loved James and put him to sleep in her passion ending a hard day with some peace and joy. 45 ** Dr. Hutcherson heads to Main Engineering to deliver news about Lt. Waters to CEO Akida Jackson. He gives a brief overview of Waters' first admission to Sickbay, and how things have developed since then. Matt tells her how he and the other doctors misinterpreted his pain on Waters' earm as imaginative, even after the nerve block. 46 ** Matt explains how Lt. Waters ran into the drug room to down a bottle of pills, and tells Akida of Waters' experience in being tortured by Romulans during the Federation/Romulan War of 2401, leading to the man's chronic pain issues. The doctor suggests Akida allow Waters a flexible schedule for counseling and psychiatric sessions. 47 Ens Vokar returned to the Tactical office to work on his report for Como Thompson and found two new padds. He opened the one and read it was the autopsy report on the two bajorian women that were supposed to be murdered by Ens Jax. The report showed they had phaser burn marks and a broken neck. Vokar felt this was consistent with what Ens Surov saw when Jax came out of the bed room with the phaser in hand. However, something else show up in the blood analysis, evidence of Nano probes. This Ens Vokar was unsure about and called LtCmdr Kryton-Vance on the COM and told him he would be bring the trace in for further analysis. Ens Vokar after reading the reports left Tactical and headed to the Security training facility and assembled his security people. He told then in the light of Lt Reid resigning and the Vindicator moving out into a very hazardous mission that he was stepping up training, hand to hand combat and close quarters fighting and as well phaser and phaser rifle marksmanship. Ens Vokar then concluded his meeting and retired for some shut eye. 51 Lt Jackson found herself besieged with work and report padds. They were being handed to her by officers as she went around trying to do her standard duties as well as being dropped off in her office. Akida felt a bit overwhelmed about it. How was she supposed to get her regular duties done but again she was CEO. She sat down in her office chair and read the padds. They were mostly routine work reports. Everything appeared to be going smoothly. She did have a diagnostics request from Ens Vokar in Tactical. Akida wanted to do that one herself but decided to assign it to LtCmdr McNeill Herschell Jacobson. She hoped he would get along with Ens Vokar. 52 Back log Lt Jackson feed her cat and headed to the transporter to meet her two brothers Cable and Johnny. Akida was beamed directly to Portofino's Italian Restaurant in the Promenade on SB22. She appeared outside the restaurant and her brothers were there waiting for her. John Grabbed Akida and lifted her in a big hug and after he put her down Cable grabbed Akida and did the same. John told Akida they had a surprise for her and he grabbed Akida's hand and hustled her into to the restaurant as Cable followed. They sat down at there table ordering pizza and sea food. Akida felt her brothers were extremely good looking and tended to sweep the girls off their feet. She was so happy to see them. Cable was surprised that Akida wasn't hiding herself in public anymore as well. Akida told both of them about her mission and the wasps and getting stung and being put in sick bay. She finally told them that she was CEO on the Vindicator and after they had ferociously eaten their pizza Akida wanted to know the secret. The brothers told her they had been assigned to the Vindicator as security officers. Akida told them the one whom had helped her about herself was Ens Vokar and he was also ACSEC. The brothers wanted to thank Vokar for his helping Akida and they would now get a chance to do so since he was their boss. The Vindicator paged the brothers and the brothers and Akida headed for the transporters. 53 Ensign Daryll Mathers called Ensign Rachel Samuels in Operations. Ens Vokar had reset the shift rotation to 4 instead of 3 and this left him with fours free. He wanted to see Rachel. He couldn't get enough time with her. Her voice was music to his ears. Rachel answered and was glade to hear his voice. She was finished with operations and wanted to see him especially with the present situation. So Daryll called Rachel up to a holodeck for some recreation time. She felt that would be nice since she wanted to see him. Rachel went to her quarters and changed while Daryll went through the database of holoprograms and found one he felt would be relaxing and romantic. Daryll then proceeded to the holodeck with his picnic basket and when he reached it punched in the program. Daryll entered the holodeck finding a nice sandy beach with the sun beginning to set orange and giving a shimmering reflection over the water. Daryll then asked the computer for a blanket which he placed on the sand in front of him after setting the basket down. Rachel entered the holodeck behind him and approached Daryll. Daryll turned and embraced one Rachel. Daryll then kissed Rachel on the forehead. 54 Daryll sat down with Rachel and unpacked the food and set it out. Rachel looked at and felt Daryll was a good cook and they ate. Rachel felt that Daryll was quit funny at times when he ate spilling crumbs all over but that is one of the things she loved about him. They finished eating and watched the sun set a while and Daryll finally got close to Rachel embraced her and they kissed. Daryll finally told Rachel he loved her and she told him she loved him too. They were very happy there but it was getting late and they had to leave to prepare for a shift. The holoprogram ended and Daryll decided to walk Rachel back to her quarters. 55 Lt Jackson finished her reports to Commodore Thompson and left the office. She went down to the warp core and checked the system everything appeared to be working correctly. Akida checked the warp speed it was running at warp 8 as required by Como Thompson. She then saw Lt West come on duty and asked him to take over for a while so that she could get some sleep. Lt West agreed provided he could call her in an emergency. He watched her leave and Akida noticed thinking he was watch her tail. West was actually watching her hips sway gently. Akida headed for the lift and entered feeling self conscious and was glade when she reached her quarters deck and her quarters. Akida entered her quarters and was greeted by Kirara. She embraced her feline friend and fed the cat it's milk. Akida then sat down on the window set with her message padds and watched the stars for a bit. She found she had a message from mom and dad and was happy about it but she never got a chance to read it as she finally fell asleep. 56 Como Thompson sat in sickbay beside Lt Cmdr Jenkins. She was still completely out unconscious and he held her hand waiting for her to awaken. Thompson at the same time was checking his padd on intelligence on the Krivaldi. The more information he could gain the better off the ship would be. Amanda finally awakened and she asked Thompson how long he been there. He told her maybe 5 hours he wasn't sure. Since Amanda had been out for 30 hours she wanted to get up but Thompson told her she had to lie still and rest and that Doc Hutcherson had indicated possible internal injuries. Amanda understood and calmed down. Thompson also told her that Commander Neil was in the brig on SB 22 and would not bother her again. Amanda indicated that he should not of found her but Thompson said that an operations officer and a commander could have easily found her anyway.
