He felt on the last maneuvers his lunch would have come up. The ship was in orbit 3000 meters from the station above the planet below. With things settling down Dex checked the repair roster. The ship had 5 hull breaches along the horizontal deck and 7 hull breaches along the vertical axis. Power and eps failures were found on, decks 7, 13, 15, 17, 25, 31, 33/34, two-type two eps, one in science, and stellar cartography with medical lab repairs, deck six and twelve and they would have to install a new helm station on the bridge. They had there work cut out for them Akida was given the Job to start work on this and control of main engineering as Lt Stadi was off on and away team. Cmdr dex told her it wouldn't be long before she could start work. 82 David gets his fake credentials from Wigget for caring side arms. He and Alex head for this bar Event Horizon, on a Rigelian Orbital Space Port. The credentials seem to work as they pass security. They find this Eta with a pale bony man. The pale bony man wants passage to the Hanton system to check on a research project on the station. He doesn't want federation interference and is willing to pass 15,000 up front and 45,000 after completion. David excepts and tells him not to be late they will leave shortly. 83 Ltcmdr Amanda Jenkins was waiting for the Vindicator to arrive and reminisced about some bad experiences in a previous relationship with a Patrick. He had been sweet at first and shortly he had changed and started beating Amanda up. In one case the beating was so bad that she suffered internal and external scars as well as a miscarriage. It was over their child. Patrick found her pregnant and was mad because he thought she had not taken her booster injections. The base medical told her to leave the relationship but Patrick told her he was sorry for loosing his temper. Amanda finally did and signed aboard the Vindicator recognizing that she had an old friend from her past there the Vindicator's Captain. 84 ** Dr. Hutcherson heads to the ED locker room, after treating Atwood (who's been taken to the O.R.). He changes out of his blood-smeared SFMC combat fatigues, and gets a message from Reese Voyer back at SFI. The two discuss the situation on Atwood. Hutch is called back to work when a nurse notifies of an incoming patient. 85 ** Cdt. Vokar is brought to Sickbay, where he receives treatment for his light phaser wounds and the stinger's toxins. Dr. Hutcherson joins in with an attending GMO (general medical officer). Hutcherson gains some insight on Vulcan physiology from the attending physician, through an explanation on the Vulcan body's resilience. 86 ** Turns out that the toxin in Vokar's blood is a type of snake venom, normally very lethal in humans. But Vokar, as a Vulcan, manages to resist some of its effects. Dr. Hutcherson and the GMO provide an anti-venom (CroFab) and fluids to keep Vokar's blood pressure up and to remove the venom from the ASEC's system. 87 ** Vokar's condition immediately normalizes after receiving the anti-venom. The two doctors discuss the patient among themselves, while the Vulcan ASEC takes a moment to meditate. He is moved from the trauma room to the acute care unit. Dr. Hutcherson gets a page from the ICU and quickly leaves to answer it. 88 David Semmes returned to the ship and Alex told him to be careful about his friends and went on in. An old college Saliss whom had come after David about 40,000 that David owed him then greeted David. David told him that he had 30,000 riding on this charter and it would cover Saliss's losses. Saliss told David that he had three weeks to get his 40,000 or Saliss would send collectors after him and then left. The skinny bony man arrived and then boarded ship. Finally the bridge told David that a federation ambassador class ship had come looking for them and security were now approaching the gangway. David shut the airlock and ordered the bridge to leave now. They left Rigel V but the ship was followed and David was ordered to prepare for boarding. David decided to try and outrun them hoping the new mods would allow him to do so. 89 David Semmes has to hide their oberth class ship from the federation star ship. David heads for the Kuiper belt on the edge of the Rigel system and hides in the floating chunks of ice. David then shuts power down but emergency and the federation ship bypasses them. They get underway and while traveling to the Hanton system continue repairs. Alex and David find out something about their passenger Skinny. He appears to be caring A.I. weapons in the ships hold, metal wasps and it looks like to Alex that skinny may be in part one of the designers of the devices. They reach the Hanton system and find several shuttles in conflict with federation vipers and send out shuttles to distract the vipers and haul the damaged one on board. David recalls his shuttles and pulls out at warp 8.4 to undisclosed coordinates. 91 Como Thompson watched the view screen seeing the star base and was glade to leave. The marines, Lt Stadi's team, and security had been recalled. He ordered helm to set course for star base 22 and ordered helm to engage at warp factor 8. Shortly after leaving the Hanton system a call from Commodore Acheson came in about the Utopia Plant attack. Acheson said he needed to talk to Thompson privately about a mission at base. The Kravaldi and the Gorn were staging attacks at various points throughout the Beta quadrant. Thompson acknowledged and increased the speed to warp 9.0. 92 Cadet Zander approached his Aid and asked him why on his testing he had got just adequate and had passed into active duty by the skin of his teeth. Zander wanted an explanation and the aid looked at him and gave him one. Zander felt he had done everything correctly in his training sims, exercises, and calculations and was sure about it. The aid explained that Zander was right about it but that by itself constitutes flying like a robot and that could actually be programmed. He told him a real pilot needs a hart, a feel for flying as well and Zander would not know until he had actually experience several battles. This was something that could not be taught. Zander headed back to the barracks and found he had been assigned to the USS-Vindicar-C. 93 ** Responding to the medical emergency called by the CO at his ready room, EMS paramedic Jones and CMO Dr. Rhodes enters to find CSEC Reid lying on the floor, unconscious. Thompson had scanned Reid with a tricorder to confirm a sub-dural hematoma. As Reid's mind drifts off into a dream-like state, the CMO and medic attempt to control his seizures. In Reid's dream, he walks by a campfire and sees his great (x4) grandfather, who tells him that it is not his 'time'... 94 James and Erin were released from medical and they returned to their quarters. Erin finished feeding Kyle and gave him to James for a while as she went to rest. James took Kyle to the lab and checked in with CWO Jones about the unknown vessels approaching the Hanton system. James made sure that Jones continued to monitor just in case. James finished the backlog of reports and returned to quarters. James feed Kyle and put him to bed. James showered with Erin and they went to bed for the night. 95 Vokar had been finally released after seeing a Vulcan doctor and he was a bit shaky since he had been lying down for some time but he finally made it to the turbo lift and headed for deck 9. Vokar went to his quarters near the lift and coming in the door he looked at the picture of his family. He changed uniform and straitened it up and cleaned up. Vokar then headed back to the turbo Lift and to the Bridge. 96 Commodore Thompson was in the ready room working feverishly on a report for Commodore Acheson when Lt Cmdr Amanda Jenkins came in. She remembered him from times long ago on the Nightshade. Thompson was a little shocked to see her. She explained that she was a new AMO for the Vindicator. Thompson told her in that case Doctor Zack Rhodes was the Chief medical Officer and she should contact him. Thompson did ask how the Nightshade was and Amanda told him she hadn't been on the Nightshade for some time. Thompson at this point in time was not quite ready to talk and Amanda felt he had changed and was not quit the same person. Amanda left and Thompson went back to his paper work. 97 Cdt Andrew Tatlock stepped aboard the SB 22 and talked to the duty chief petty officer whom assigned him to the orderly officer and the present duty was to get assigned quarters, change of uniform, and eat. The 35-year-old cadet was assigned quarters which he went to, changed uniforms and then viewed the star base finding everything was unusually clean and everything in its place. Andrew went back to the orderly officer to find out about the Vindicator whom was unable to help him at this time. 98 Cdt Prescott looks at the footage on the Utopia Planetiea disaster and knows the Vindicator is speeding back to SB 22 at High warp. Prescott wants payback for somebodies treachery. Prescott calls SSG Corry and has him put the marines in formation to address them. Prescott address the men and tells them if they have any family in the Utopiea area contact them to be sure they are ok. He tells them that when this ship is sent out to restore order on the boarders. He will be the first and the last. Prescott dose not want to be surprised when the Federation call the marines up this is war with somebody. We will finish the fight but we must be ready. Prescott orders training drills to get the men ready for a coming fight. 99 Cdt Vokar reported to the bridge and stood at attention in front of Commodore Thompson. He expected to report on the state of security. Como Thompson asked Vokar if he would like to take the position of Chief of Tactical since Lt Carson had stepped down. Cdt Vokar was a little unsure about the post since he knew little about tactical and suggested he do holodeck training to get him up to speed. Vokar accepted the position and Como Thompson agreed with the holo training and suggested one more thing that Cdt Vokar was out of uniform. Vokar was puzzled and didn't get it. Then Como Thompson came up with a black box containing ensign pips. Vokar took off the cdt Pips and put the Ensign pips on his Collar. Ens Vokar stood at attention and was dismissed. 100 Lt Stadi beamed down with Lavery and a security team headed by Ens Earp. Stadi Looked at the computer core and immediately he could tell the core started out as a civilian main frame but the components were a combination of military and civilian components. It reminded him of a Borg assembly. Lt Stadi started hacking there comm logs and found that a modified star fleet encryption had been used. Actually it was a form of star fleet intelligence encryption. Stadi compared it to standards and was shortly able to decrypt it. Lt Stadi downloaded the logs and ran through them. He found that the array had indeed been beaming information to this space station. Stadi up loaded the Virus and his tricorder was hit by phaser fire. Lavery, Stadi, and Ens Earp got behind the core and returned fire. Ens Earp asked how much time Stadi needed. Stadi told him just enough for his crew to finish and upload the virus then they could beam out. Ens Earp gave Stadi 5 minutes and stepped out telling Rangers to go with him and Charlie element to stay with the techies. Ens Earp cut back the Vanguard element holding them off and Stadi finished. The Engineers beamed out to the Vindicator and the security element beamed out after that. 102 Cdt Prescott takes his men to deck 13 holo-4 and first runs then through a forced march with body armor vest and 3c phaser rifles. they finally reach the training range exhausted. The place is a harsh desert world with two suns and the body armor holding in the heat and back packs don't help. Prescott sets his men up with a move and shoot scenario having to move in against return fire to a large sand blasted building. They finally reach the building and go in using grenades to clear the rooms. When the training exercise is finished Prescott has chow ready for this men at the end of the day. 103 Lt Jackson and Lt West went up to the bridge. Darius had been left guarding the CO when Vokar had gone to sickbay. He was still on the bridge when Lt's Jackson and West arrived. They sized up the situation and went to the burnt out helm consol. Darius was some what suspicious of Lt Jackson being half betazoid he felt she was hiding something. Curious he asked Lt Jackson if he could help. Jackson said he could help West lift the consol. Jackson could tell Darius was betazoid but she didn't know for sure where full or half. Darius sensed something again as West cut the console loose after which Darius helped West pull the consol off and set it else where on the bridge. West and Jackson looked into the consol and found everything was burned out. 104 Lt Jackson determined that the whole consol system would have to be replaced so Jackson and West removed the burnt out computer and set it aside with the bad consol. Akida had to remove the burnt out wires so she tore them out and threw them at West and covered him with them. Jackson asked for new wires to be handed to her and West did so as they joked around. Darius noted they seemed to be a good team working together. Akida had Lt West bring the new computer and hold it as she secured it on the consol platform so it wouldn't fall. At this point West noticed Cdt Vokar enter the bridge and go into the Captains ready room. A bit later Vokar came out and West noticed he had an Ensign's pip instead. West asked Akida about it and She felt he had been promoted. Akida had the computer secured now and asked West to find a probe for her. 105 Akida grabbed the isolinear probe and checked the chips to make sure they were right. They looked good and Lt Jackson checked the power flow and everything was stable. She continued hooking up the wires to the computer core and hoped that everything was correct. After Akida had finished she applied the power closing her eyes. No sparks, she had hooked it up correctly. Akida then went with West and picked up the new consol case and placed it on the mount unit. She then placed the final chip and started the reprogramming while Lt West took care of transporter beaming of the burnt out parts for recycle. Once the reprogramming was done Lt Jackson and Lt West went to the mess hall to get something to eat. Darius watched the engineers work and they worked well and quickly and as they left he felt it would be quite for a while. 106 ** Dr. Hutcherson is in the ICU, discussing a patient (Lt. Waters) with an anesthesiologist and Dr. Ryder. Waters' drug dependence and pain problem is mentioned. A note to counsult with Counseling and Starfleet Medical is made. Hutcherson hears rumors about the Utopia Shipyards 'incident' from the nurse's station. 107, 108 ** LtCdr. Jenkins arrives at Sickbay, and meets Dr. Hutcherson at the ED admit desk. Jenkins provides a brief background of herself, while Hutcherson gives her a tour of the ED and explains the three other Sickbay departments (OR, Med/Surg Ward, ICU). We learn that Jenkins practiced as a GP/family doctor back at Starfleet Medical. 110 Ens Vokar went to the Vindicator mess hall and got a mug of Earl gray tea and sat down at table and began to read the pad of information on the tactical officer's position and found it to be quit in depth and realized after he had gotten half way through it that it would take a while. He finished his sandwich and most of his tea and then pulled out another padd and wrote a letter to his family. Vokar informed them that he had already been in battle, promoted twice, and had been attacked by mechanical wasps, men and women had been injured including himself and he had been sent to sick bay as well. Vokar however was still intrigued by Lt Jackson. This mysterious women was in his mind hiding something. 112 Corporal Lozen Nemain's squad was moving up the hill in the desert practice runs that Prescott ordered and one of the marines asked if he could still be a fighter pilot. Lozen asked him if he wanted to sit on his rear all day. At that point a volley of shots came down from attackers. Lozen ordered six photon grenades maximum charge penetration 5 meters deep before exploding. The grenade launchers fired sending an avalanche of dirt and dust into the air when the charges hit. The squad cleared out the attackers and reached the building. Prescott told Lozen to then clear the first floor. 113 Ens Vokar still in the mess hall writing his letter finished and meditated for about 20 minutes then refilled his mug with Earl Gray tea. Lt Jackson and Lt West entered the mess hall and Akida seeing Ens Vokar seated at a table decided to sit with him. Akida asked if she and West could join Vokar and Vokar said fine. Akida and Vokar discussed his promotion to ensign and Chief Tactical. Then Ens Vokar finally asked if West was joining and Akida asked West and he came over to the table. 114 Lt West asked Ens Vokar what the pads were for and Vokar replied that one was a letter to his family and the other was information on the requirements for the Chief Tactical Officer. Akida listened for a bit as the to men talked and nibbled on her tuna sandwich. Then Ens Vokar suggested a rock climbing exercise on the holodeck at 19:00 Hours. Lt West declined saying he was afraid of heights but Lt Jackson decided to join him. Vokar told her he would see her then and left the mess hall. 115 Lt Vance was in his office with his son Kyle. He just finishing giving out an assignment to CWO Jones and Covering Kyle's feeding. Kyle then fell asleep and Lt Vance wrote his friend on the Dirae Lt John Adams. Lt Vance discussed the things that happen to him and his wife on the last mission and the birth of Kyle. The letter written Lt Vance now had to change Kyle's diapers. 116 Cdt Zander watched old war rerun movies of fighter battle scenarios many of which were required for trainees. Zander knew the outcome and most of the plays in theses movies all ready but he was looking for the gut instinct he had not seen before, the hart of flying. Why did one pilot do a barrel roll and another play chicken with a given situation. Zander was trying to figure out why in some cases non standard moves worked and in other cases they didn't. Then the screen was changed to the president's announcement that the federation was at war. This only intensified Zander's need to know. 1 ** Dr. Hutcherson watches the civilian news reporter, Ken Atwood, undergo surgery. Things don't look very well, as Dr. O'Neill (the surgeon) explains the difficulty in keeping up with the blood loss. Hutcherson has kept a possessions bag that holds Atwood's personal belongings - which may contain intelligence documents. 2 ** Hutcherson finally gets some time off. He watches a few news broadcasts from various channels on a widescreen at the ICU doctor's lounge. Most stories relate to the recent tragedy at Utopia yards, and the President's new policies. Hutcherson calls home, speaking to his younger brother (Dylan) and his mother, who worries for his safety. 3 Lt Stadi took a shower and had his coffee and headed back to engineering. He had quite a mess eps conduits had to be repaired and many other things as well but engineering was making considerable progress and they would have a team to help them once they reached SB22. However there would be no shore leave for engineering. Stadi felt that they would only be at SB22 for a short time. He called his crew together in front of the reactor and explained the situation and due to the federation being at war they had to be ready in case the Vindicator was sent on a mission very soon. 4 Akida and West arrived back in engineering in time to here Lt Stadi's speech. She grabbed Lt West playfully making him leave engineering with her carrying their tool boxes. West motioned for crewman Doyle and Lt Roberts to join them. They reached the turbo lift and headed for deck 34. The lift stopped at deck 30 apparently stuck. Akida pressed some buttons to activate the ceiling hatch but it failed to work. She then tried to open it manually. This didn't work and Akida then extended her claws and went after the hatch opening it and jumping up on top outside. She then helped her crew up. 5 David Semmes sat in a bar with his friend Alex on Uganon Prime in Uganon City. The strider narrowly escaped the federation fighters and delivered their cargo likely Vanguard and that was one thing however the people here were cheering the federations plight. It was one thing with the Vanguard that was internal with the federation but having externals such as the Breen, Gorn, and Kravaldi involved was different and the federation was there to protect these peoples asses in this case. David got a little upset partly due to him being drunk and partly due to his feelings. He started a brawl in the bar. Alex came up with his phaser on stun and David joined him stunning attackers. However, it ended with the city magistrate being called in, the crimson guard, and the people fled. David and Alex didn't leave quite fast enough and were stunned by the guard. 6 Gunnery Sergeant Mark Redding was checking the weapons back in, check condition and making sure they were stored properly. He had Corporal Oaks helping him and Oaks asked Redding is this what we are here for as marines to fight mechanical wasps and stop them from attacking the ship. Redding asked Oaks what did he expect. Oaks told him this particular conflict, the wasps, really scared him. Redding commented that is why we have the basic training and why we don't freeze. Redding then told Oaks to Let Lt Prescott know that Major Perkins was having a mandatory platoon meeting at 0800 tomorrow. 7 Howard Prescott's dad is watering his vegetable garden when the president addresses the federation in a broadcast about the hostilities with Utopea and that the Breen, Kravaldi and the second Dominion have declared open hostilities against the Federation. Richard finds that a draft has been issued. His wife calls him back into the house with a phone call. Richard returns and takes the call in his study thinking it is his son. He finds that it is the marine corp. and he has been called back to active duty. Richard tells his wife and she to the very least is upset. 8 PFC Tryn's squad provided cover as they assulted the building and once in the building they cleared the first floor and then the second floor and finally the third floor.The building was secured and technically destroyed after the exercise was completed the went back to barracks and chowed down. 9 The Kravaldi attack a federation settlement Thomasville. The marines repel the landing. The radio man PFC Holms is involved in a heavy attack and his group is ordered to hold there ground. The Marine tank dose a valiant job of holding the Kravaldi but is finally hit by Kravaldi tank fire throwing shrapnel over the area and Holms is knocked senseless. His sergeant gets him back up and has Holms guided mortar fire over the incoming Kravaldi until the fire lands directly on the Kravaldi unit destroying it.
