Alright, now I need to get back into the habit of writing some comments. As you can see, Trek Operations has begun a Fleet plot. The Vindicator's role in that plot has not yet been determined but needless to say that we will be playing a part in it. If you see an email from Trek-ic, it might not be a bad idea to read it, to give yourself some insight on the plot. The simming week for the Vindicator ends Saturday at 12:00 EST, so your log might not have made it for the deadline. Everyone was excused this week, due to that change and the thanksgiving holiday. I hope everyone had an enjoyable Thanksgiving! This week, the Vindicator will return to Starbase 22 and we'll await our newest mission from Starfleet. Until next week: Captain Thompson ___________________________________________________________________ | W E E K I N R E V I E W | ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ {{after 2 am Monday morning start log 53}} 53 Cmdr Dex watched as his new betazoid helm dodged anything trying to harm the ship and as Lt Dudas plotted out the weapons trajectory and as Lt Stadi's engineers translated the movement into the warp field changes. He felt a little like wanting to jump in and doing things himself but his crew working at guiding and targeting the platforms were good. He was in good hands so he had to restrain himself. Dex informed the bridge that the platforms were out of the picture and they were approaching the starbase. He felt that the Vindicator suddenly showing up at the starbase with trigger finger ready would be impressive on the personal there. He also felt Como Thompson may issue boarding parties. As for the wasps he hardly felt there presence other that when he was first on the bridge. Several phaser rifles going on overload was the only thing that alerted him being quit busy with ship's maneuvering. Dex was glade the wasps seemed to be preoccupied with Lt stadi's office and the warp drive consol. With the excitement over Cmdr Dex went back to checking ship's damage. 54 Lt Dudas was eating his hamburger when Lt Jackson came into the mess. He quickly stuffed it down and approached Lt Jackson. He tapped Akida's shoulder and she blushed a bit. Dal asked her if she wanted some company and sat down with her. Akida kept purring and couldn't seem to stop as they talked. Dal told her about the ships he had been on the Intrepid, resolution and the Vindi. He told her he liked the Vindi the best. Akida said she was fresh out of academy. The holowaiter finally came and Akida ordered her food. Dal had to leave because he was due to start his shift. 55 ** CSCI James Vance wakes up at Sickbay's Med/Surg ward, in Erin's room. He shares some quality time with his wife, playing with their baby Kyle as well. Dr. Kelly Clark walks in, explaining the IV line hooked to one of Vance's arms. 56 ** Dr. Clark tells Vance that he needs to be treated, having been hit by a stinger. Vance tells Erin that he'll be back, leaving with the doctor to be treated. Clark asks Vance how he's holding up as a new dad, mentioning her own 16 year-old son. 57 Ens Jaxs and Ens Surov continue evasive maneuvers and finally the shuttles turn wide and the fighters get in on there six. Ens Surov fires an Mk-2 and the missile detonates splitting the shuttle into peaces The fighters bare down on the last shuttle and Ens Jaxs takes it. The shuttle is outclassed by Jaxs phaser battery and takes bad hits leaking atmosphere. Ens Surov detects subspace chatter and an oberth class vessel appears above the shuttle and takes it up into it's bay with a tractor beam. At the same time it drops eight shuttles which immediately open fire on the two fighters. Ens Jaxs and Ens Surov have all they can do to avoid fire. The shuttles head back to the vessel and are taken into the bay. The vessel turns and goes into warp before the fighters can do anything. 58 Thompson smiles as now the platforms, the wasps, were out of the way and no longer a problem. The weapons system on the station was still down. Thompson wondered how and why this little station could have caused Vindicator so many problems. The fighters had found that an oberth class ship had helped and unknown ship evade and leave the system. Thompson was eager to have the fighter's data taken to science and have stellar cartography find the course of the ship and it's destination. Thompson ordered Lt Stadi to take an away team to the station and recover the computer core data and on there return avoid contaminating Vindicators core. Thompson sent a few security officers with the engineers. He then ordered Lt Bishop to access damage reports and Cdt Vokar to report to Thompson's ready room. 59 ** With the VSX-1 back on the Vindicator, Dr. Hutcherson and two medics continue to treat Atwood. Hutch realizes the CSEC had already left. Atwood's pulse returns after relieving a tension pneumothorax. Triage is notified, and they beam out to Sickbay. 62 Lt Bishop was amazed at the ability of the Vanguard technicians with mechanical wasps. His hairs had stood up before there second attempt at the platforms since anybody with the ability to create orbital subspace platforms would have tricks up their sleeves. But wasps that would not have been predicted. Lt Bishop at the same time hated what they had tried to do to the Vindicator. As the ship came into to the star base Bishop hoped the people aboard the base would be in fear of the Excalibur ship Vindicator and Lt Reid at there door step. Then some got away Auryn felt they would be dealt with later. 63 Lt Stadi gave Lt Jackson orders to completely re-outfit helm and called Lavery to head with him to transporter room 1. Lavery left and Lt Stadi finished with Akida then left. When he reached the transporter room with his assigned two security officers and Lavery. Stadi told Lavery to download the core data in regard to anyone entering and leaving the station in the last few weeks. Lavery was also supposed to download any Starfleet or military data. When they were finished Stadi was going to load a virus into the base core. That would destroy star fleet data and disable their shields and weapons for several weeks. The group energized to leave for the station. 64 Science mate Jones received the telemetry data from the two fighter pilots Ens Jaxs and Ens Surov. Jones set up the stellar cartography system to track the warp engine and subspace residues as far as resolution would allow base on the last know coordinates of the oberth class vessel that left the system. Jones was able to determine approximate warp speed and course projection with possible destinations. He sent the projection and destination data to Como Thompson's console and Lt Bishop's console. Jones sent a copy to Lt Vance's desk whom was still in sick bay and returned to a problem with the lateral sensor array. 65 The andorian Sergeant Nalskesh led his squad around a corridor in a station sweep and met with armed resistance. The Vanguard fired on the the marines and they backed around the corridor. Nalskesh pulled out the schematics to the station and decided to flank the armed forces. The marines moved around to flank and found a sentry standing by some crates. The Beta team squad provided covering fire and alpha squad moved to some nearby crate stacks for cover. They found the sentry in the open and stunned him. The marines moved on up the corridor. They found another sentry behind a metal sheet barrier and again beta team provided cover and alpha team found a shot and took the sentry down. The marines reached a large intersection and found four more armed personal and the passageway partially blocked by crates. They continued to lay cover fire and a smoke grenade was tossed and finally alpha team found a position and returned fire taking a sentry out. 66 The Marines continue their fire fight on deck 8 section 26 taking more Vanguard down with the pulse rifles. They finally get a surprise and knock down one with a padd. It appeared to be a cargo manifest indicating something stored in Cargo hold 3 on Deck 8. Nalskesh orders the marines to move down to the cargo hold. They enter the area and again encounter resistance and continue the fight taking out the Vanguard. The marines then find the crate in question and open it. They find not to their surprise wasp machines. They continue and in depth search of the area and find a weapons cache which appears to be heavily federation ordinance. A conclusion is drawn that somebody up in star fleet is involved with gun running to the Vanguard by one of the soldiers. Nalskesh tells him to can it. He will not have conspiracy talk here at this time. 67 ** At Sickbay, Drs. Hutcherson and O'Neill (surgeon) treat Atwood, who is in critical condition. Working together, they relieve bilateral hemothoraces. We can see how desperate Hutcherson is in trying to keep his patient alive (in order to get the intelligence he needs). 68 ** Turns out Atwood has even more extensive injuries to his lung and aorta. Dr. O'Neill takes the patient to the O.R. for emergency surgery. He tells Dr. Hutcherson that there's little he could do to help, but to leave it to the surgeons. 70 Science Mate Jones had just recalibrated the lateral sensors when the cartography system that had been left on monitoring the fleeing route of the Oberth Vessel detected incoming vessels. Jones found that there were two vessels which appeared to be by configuration Aurora Class vessels, light destroyers once used by SSF. Jones obtained what data he could find on them and at there present course and speed they would arrive at the Hanton system in a little over 3.5 days. Jones wasn't able to obtain any queried registry on them. The vessels remained silent. As to whom owned them it was at this point unknown. Jones reported the information and scans to the CO, XO, Bishop, and Tactical and continued to monitor for any change in course. He then reported this to the Csci or Asci in sick bay. 72 Cdt Prescott told his men to go to 4 hour security rotation due to the yellow alert and that PFC Tryn was to stand down and rest then report to deck 34 for a relief shift. Prescott watched his men clear their pulse rifles and check diagnostics for a bit but at the same time they re-supplied there ammo keeping it close by. Prescott goes to his office and activates his console and starts his after action report for the company commander. He finds that he is a bit hungry and pulls a ration packet corn beef hash and eats part of it. The platoon sergeant comes in with two cups of coffee and sets down in a seat with Prescott loosening his body armor. Prescott wonders what it would take to get the replicator in his office fixed and the staff sergeant tells him a requisition order. 73 ** Dr. Kelly Clark treats CSCI James Vance's sting wound at Sickbay. Vance receives a notice from science mate Jones about the incoming Aurora-class vessels, and Kelly asks about them. Vance explains how the ships are on their way towards the Vindicator. 74 ** After providing fluids, anti-histamines, iron supplements and an ice pack for his stinger wound, Dr. Kelly Clark discharges Vance. Wishing to be with his wife, Vance leaves Acute Care and heads back to Erin's Med/Surg room. 75 back log prior to 73 James was sent to a waiting area for further medical treatment and got home sick and went back to see Erin and Kyle. Erin recognized he was tired and got him to sleep and a doctor later came in checking on James and decided to let him rest a little more and have Erin send him back later. 76 Vindicator Mess Hall CPL Lozen Nemain noticed a rookie marine trying to take his MKIII pulse rifle apart to clean it. Lozen offered to help the rookie but PFC Koberda suggested that he not take the Romulan lady up on that. Finally Lozan made a bet that she could take the rifle apart in 8 seconds. The minimum time was supposed to be 20 seconds. A number of marines took the bet against her and laid credits on the table. PFC Koberda betted in her favor and Lozen proceeded to take the rifle apart as the countdown began. However Lozan took it apart fast and as such parts flew everywhere scattered all over the mess hall. Lozan finished in 6.438 seconds winning the bet and picking up the credits giving some to PFC Koberda. The marine rookie had to now go around the mess hall finding his rifle parts. 77 PFC Joran Tryn's squad was the first to stand down after Yellow Alert was called. He cleaned his weapons and replaced his ammo and wondered about the situation 8 months ago. He had been a Sergeant in the SSF and had been sent on an assignment to trace a target and eventually take him out. He had done this and reported to HQ about position and location. The order finally came to take out the target and just as Tryn was about to do it. The order was rescinded and he was required to paint the target. Tryn did so and called back to find out why nothing was happening. They reported to having trouble with the torpedo launchers. The torpedo was finally launched and the encampment was destroyed but only after the target had moved on. Tryn had been commended for a good job and killing the target. He tried to tell them the target evaded the torpedo but they insisted and he struck the SSF Captain in an argument. Immediately he was reduced in rank to PFC and removed from the SSF and sent to the Vindicator-C. Tryn was hoping this past experience would not hurt him here. 78 David Semmes sitting in the Captains chair of the Oberth class vessel Strider checks with his com officer to see if the fake registry is loaded and the com officer indicates it is as they approach Rigel V traffic authorities. The registry information appears in order and they are given docking info and a location. The com officer gives the information to helm and they move on in to dock. David turns the bridge over to Alex and heads to his ready room office. He checks the security of the room and communications and calls Eta someone on Rigel V. David tells Eta that they are delivering cargo to an associate and he hears that Eta needed a delivery to the Hanton system. Eta tells him to meet him at the Event Horizon. David agrees and pulls his disruptor and calls Alex to get papers to carry weapons and that he will need a ground crew shortly. 79 Major Shran was in a conference with federation officials trying to get R and D approval for research into new rifleman gear for the marines. The civilians at the meeting seem to be more preoccupied with getting work done on new exploration vessels and not on outfitting the marines with new and better gear to make there fight when necessary more successful. Shran fells they fail to realize with more exploration into unknown areas sometimes nasties are stirred such the Borg or Dominion. A movie is shown at the conference depicting the new research gear against the standard marine gear. The new gear depicts a new holo graphic helmet display, and a helmet mic system and a rap around scope that can paint a target for use with a new type of photon stun grenade. After the movie one civilian woman gets up and say "You talk about saving lives and ensuring the marines can operate in even more remote locations. But despite a few minor groups out there, I'm sure Star Fleet can handle the issue without violence. This seems like a waste of resources, I'm surprise this program has gone on as long as it has." The major is enraged and an argument ensues with the woman. She suggests that the marines are good for killing babies and Shran slaps the woman.
