She returned to engineering and ran into Lt Jg Vincent West. he gave her his padds. She was a bit taken by his smirky attitude. Akida assigned him an assignment to go along with her on a programming mission. She told him to get his tool box. Cdt Carsons the counselor couldn't to with what was currently going on so he went back to his office desk and started reading the personal files. He first read the CO file and found it remarkably interesting. Commodore Thompson was highly decorated and was even a medical officer at one time. He even had the golden hart award. Carsons then read the file on Lt Bishop. He was doing remarkably well with promotions and was even decorated a few times. Carsons the checked the file on Cdt Prescott and thought he was remarkably young to be leading so many marines. Carsons felt he might be under considerable stress and made a note to talk to him. Carsons looked at the Science department files and found it extremely interesting. He found the Csci and Asci were married as well as a very efficient team. Carsons was worried about the dynamics of this arrangement due to emotional stress during missions on either party. he also found that the Csci had survived a terrible crash and had lost a lot of his early memory due to the method he used to survive. Carsons decided to console both of them and the Csci as well separately due to his memory loss. He then looked at doctor Hutchison and found him a remarkable individual but thought he needed some counseling due to patient loss. Lt Bishop reported to his station and checked with Lt Vance about the reprogram scan filter and found that it had been completed. Lt Vance sounded a bit anxious but with the pounding the Vindicator took and the birth of his and Erin's child it was no wonder. Auryn wondered what was holding Lt Vance together at this moment with all the stress he was under. Auryn started his scans and new with the filter program that due to the high resolution used to detect the weak subspace tears that the process would be slow but they need ed the map so he would have to wait. There was no way around this. ** New Life On The Vindi - Part 1" Lt. Erin Kryton-Vance is transported to the triage room in Sickbay as she undergoes labor. Quickly assessed by the triage team's GMO, she is moved to the delivery room. One of the staff specialist medical officers, Dr. Kelly Clark (NPC), comes in. The CMO is notified, and will be in shortly. Erin continuously asks the medical team to somehow complete the delivery, as she suffers from the excrutiating pain. James Vance beams himself directly to the delivery room upon hearing such news on the bridge. Lt Jackson on deck 28 set up a holoprogram to search for shield frequencies to minimize the effect of the platform disturbances on the warp core Lt West watched. She started the program and an officer came up and gave her a padd. It was a finished repair report and she had to go back to main engineering deck 27. Akida reached the deck and the computer alarm went off completing the program. She found two suitable shield modulation frequencies for the warp core and now all that was left was to set up the force fields. Lt Reid advised Cdt Vodak that he would be in charge of VSWAT Blue team that will coordinate with the marines. Reid told Vodak to be decisive around marines an to be on his best behavior since Major Perkins was a senior officer. Bryan then made all the squad leaders check each others gear. There were two shuttles one would be the CNC and the other and auxiliary CNC. They were black with rubber material to deflect sensor beams. There was and auto and manual destruct on them that wiped everything but environmental and flight control. Bryan gave them the history of Vanguard and reminded them of the use of deadly force and the Green, Yellow, and Red zones and that some Red Zones were race specific. Bryan reminded the personal that their main job was Information extraction. Zero foot print is our goal. If not then as minimal as possible. ** "New Life On The Vindi - Part 2" Dr. Kelly Clark continues to help Erin Kryton-Vance deliver her baby boy. James Vance had arrived, and quickly initiates a mind-link with his wife to help calm her down and relieve the pain. The delivery runs smoothly, and just as it is carried out, CMO Dr. Rhodes walks in. Responsibilities are divided up - Rhodes makes sure the baby is well, and Kelly checks Erin for possible complications (there were none). ** With the baby finally delivered, Dr. Kelly Clark helps Erin Kryton-Vance deliver her placenta, that being the final stage. James and his wife admire their new baby, handed over to them after a thorough physican exam by CMO Dr. Rhodes. Making sure there's no bleeding or complications, Dr. Clark congratulates the two new parents, and Rhodes does the same. Having to return to duty on the bridge, James leaves a bit early. Lt Vance left to the sick bay corridor and was called on the COM. He was informed that the nacelle work was going nicely but the CO wanted to go back in in three hours. Lt Vance checked on status of shields, weapons and scanning filter. He found all were in place. Vance had himself beamed to the bridge and found they were still awaiting the CO. He was asked about the child and the bridge found the child's name was Kyle. Lt Vance checked the incoming repair reports and found eps completed and the nacelle was nearing completion nicely but the long range communications system was still down and would be another hour to repair the cable. Lt Vance checked the immediate sector and everything was still quit and He then checked with Lt Bishop on the mapping progress. Lt Jackson and Lt West were working on the emitters putting in the new modulation frequencies and West was checking to make sure they were stable. She noticed West eying her and told him to concentrate on work. A officer came with a padd looking for Akida and she jumped up on top of the metal ring around the core to hide from the officer. He thought he saw Akida there a minute ago and was confused. Lt West was confused also since he had not been watching and she was here a bit ago. The officer left with the padd and Jackson jumped down startling West. West asked but she did not say and they finished the emittors and West left while Akida this time went to another incoming officer but to her delight this one did not have a padd for her. Cdt Prescott was cleaning his phaser rifle and decided to increase it's efficiency he was getting 12% well within the 14% range but he wanted better. At this time gunnery Sergeant Mark reading came in and Cdt Prescott decided to have a talk with him since Prescott was unsure of himself. Prescott related the story of how during a holo exercise he had stunned a fellow cadet and continued on with the exercise. Some of the instructors didn't agree with his tactics. They felt he should have stopped the sim and removed the cadet then continued. Prescott got a reprimand because of it and he felt this was why he was still a cadet. Redding felt that the fellow marines should be protected as much as possible. He didn't feel good about shooting a fellow marine. Prescott asked Sergeant Redding to help him make the grade as an officer. Redding said that it would be one of his first priorities. Prescott finished his phaser rifle and set it by his desk. Prescott asked the gunnery sergeant to join him on the 2 and 3 platoon inspection and Redding agree to go with him. Commodore Thompson stepped on the bridge and took his set in the command chair. He suggested that Lt Vance go and be with his wife and baby. Thompson then called red alert and told Lt Reid to launch the shuttles and contacted Cdt Prescott to be ready for boarding with the marines. Thompson then checked with Ensign K'Eklyr to get his fighters into position and cover the shuttles being sent to carry security and marines to board the station. The orbital platforms would be Vindicators job and Thompson then Told Stadi to start mapping out the positions of the platforms and send the data to tactical. Thompson called Lt Carson and checked on shields and weapons status. Carson told him the weapons were at 100% and shields at 85%. Carson called up auxiliary power to beef up the shields. Commodore Thompson then contacted sickbay and told the CMO Lt Rhodes to be ready for more casualties since they would likely happen. At that point Cmdr Dex entered the bridge and took his place along side Commodore Thompson. Thompson called the helmsman and called for full impulse and the Vindicator moved back in toward the station. ** Dr. Hutcherson treats a science officer with severe electrical burns and internal bleeding. Dr. Lucien O'Neill, the surgical consult, urges to transport the patient to the O.R. for emergency surgery. Matt, however, suggests something else that could be more of an immediate threat to the patient's life (rhabdomyolysis). We get an insight on blood electrolytes and potassium's role in cardiac contraction, and how its elevated levels can be detrimental. The lab results return to confirm Matt's diagnosis, and the team starts appropriate drug and fluid therapies, before being whisked to the surgical suite. Cdt Prescott orders his men to set their phasers at stun setting 3 and have their vest plates on. Sergeant Redding stays in background to observe Cdt Prescott. Lance Corporal Tyrn will patrol against boarding on decks 1 to 23 and be in charge there with squad 2. Squad 3 will be under Cdt Prescott's direction and cover decks 24 to 46. Cdt Prescott's staff sergeant will head the command post on deck 30 transporter room 7. The Sergeant objected but Prescott told him that is the way it will be. Cdt Prescott headed to deck 30 to talk to Lt Reid and quickly got the word from Commodore Thompson to get his marines ready for shuttle boarding. Lt Jackson in engineering sipped her warm milk and heard the red alert and got ready for some action she received the order to transfer the auxiliary power to the shields and did so wondering what else she could do. PFC Tyrn was second squad leader and he assembled his men and told them that they would be the antiboarding team for decks 1 to 23. They would be stationed on deck 30 and intra ship beamed to the appropriate deck when the time came. All men were to have at least type one plates in there vests. The mode of operation was as follows the security officer would inform the marine squad leader and then the men would be informed by the squad leader. This would be the case unless the security teams were dead or had run away. Cdt Vokar knowing that security for some time had been helping get casualties to sick bay decided to return to the bridge where Commodore Thompson was in his ready room working on his log for Acheson. Cdt Vokar took the turbo lift up to the bridge and chimed the ready room. Cdt Vokar reported in smartly to Thompson and he appreciated it. While discussing the security situation with Thompson Vokar asked if he could investigate Lt Jackson he felt she was hiding something. Thompson asked how he would proceed since Thompson didn't want Vokar stalking into a personal situation. Vokar said that he was only going to survey the database on her race and discuss anything he turned up strictly privately with Lt Jackson. Thompson sternly warned him to be discrete but allowed Vokar to go ahead. Thompson had to complete a report so he dismissed Vokar. Cdt Vokar stood guard outside Thompson's door and informed security and the marines of his where abouts. 2Lt Mathew Demming suited up and moved out into the launch area finding his spectre fighter. The Petty Officer, PO1 Ralph Skinner had checked over his ship and it was ready to go. Demming climbed up into the cockpit and strapped himself in and closed the canopy and sealed it. Demming activated the engines and moved into the repulser field launch. His fighter was sent out the track into space. Demming activated weapons, shields and sensors. The Squadron commander soon hailed the squadron. They were going to engage the station to cover the gliders and were to avoid the orbital platforms and stay close to the station. Demming headed in with the squadron. Commodore Thompson and Cmdr Dex returned to the bridge and relieved Lt Vance and sent him to see his wife and their child Kyle. Somewhat tired Lt Vance arrived in Erin's room and immediately greeted his wife and child and set about to finish some quick lab business and come back but to his surprise they had set him up for a physical check up. A thing he had been avoiding since the Kalian incident. Erin quickly talked him into excepting. She felt he needed it and was warn out. James cleaned up and climbed into bed with Erin where she wanted him and she quickly put him to sleep for some well deserved rest. Erin had her husband back with her sleeping in her arms and was happy. Cdt Vokar stood buy the ready room on the bridge and watch the rapid activity going on with what he thought was the Chief Science Officer in command. The Commodore Thompson came out of the ready room and suggested that the Csci go see his wife and child. Shortly after that Cmdr Dex came up and took his XO position. The Csci then intra ship beamed himself to his wife and child. Cdt Vokar then began thinking about his own family especially his sister T'Asir a good scientist and medical officer now herself. At the time she had talked him into going into the hills and checking on something. The two of them did and came upon a rock. At first Vokar was a little annoyed that she brought him there to see that rock but when he picked it up. It glowed. He realized it was different and took it home with him as a gift from his sister and asked mom about it. She didn't know. Vokar then came back to reality realizing he had to guard the CO and XO. Lt Rhodes was updating his files and poured himself some Jasmine tea with a little milk and headed out into sickbay. He inspected the biobeds and noticed some had not been cleaned up yet. Normally they were but they been real busy after the last battle. Lt Rhodes cleanup the biobed and tray he was looking at and addressed his staff. He told them he wished he could give them some well deserved time off but they had to be ready again for more casualties during the upcoming battle. The patients treated and still here were to be moved to private rooms and the triage was to be made ready for incoming. Lt Reid tapped his COM and asked for permission for the two shuttles two leave. Commodore Thompson responded by telling Lt Reid to remmber that most of the people on the station were not Vanguard since it was actually a small group. It was possible that only the station manager was a Vanguard symthathizer. The boarding party was to use only heavy stun when fired on and not deadly force unless they were given no other choice. The federation did not want an incident involving shooting innocent civilians. Once inside the primary objective was control of the computer core and the information contained in it. Once the orbital platforms and the station were defeated the Vanguard operatives may try to purge the system. Control of their computer is paramount. Reid listened to Thompson and acknowledged. They would be standing down from condition red to red and hold with heavy stun free. Standard deadly force rules apply and the object is the main computer core. Reid advised that tether would be one CNC and one CNC would be hidden for sensor extension and transport extraction. Reid asked for a go. Thompson said yes but be advised Reid that back up marines would not be deployed to the station until the platforms and the station were disabled. It might be a while in case of a firefight backup. Reid indicated that was what the other hidden CNC was for just that situation. Reid got his men together and explain the situation had been changed to RED with HOLD. They were to use weapons when fired on only and set heavy stun only. Lt Reid would be the only one that could initiate deadly force. The objective was still the same the computer core and it's data. Lt Jackson finished transferring the auxiliary power to the shield and found that Lt Dudas was close and went up to him. She was in charge but wanted to get a bite to eat and stretch her tail so she asked Lt Dudas if he would take over in engineering for an hour so she could rest and eat before battle. Dal felt since she was in charge transferring charge for an hour would be ok and he agreed. Akida then went to her quarters with her tail hurting . It had been rapped around her waist to long. She meet her cat Kirara there and took her jacket off and stretched her tail. Akida had a tuna salad sandwich and a glass of milk. Matt Hutcherson gets a quick update from his senior resident, Dr. Jane Menzo, at the Holodeck (residency training simulation). He is told that VGH has decided to cancel the simulation program, in order to revamp the system. Matt is surprised with this news, slightly disappointed. But a part of him sees it as a relief from work-related stress. Red-alert is called through the comm. Targeting resolution was mysteriously lost and Bishop changed targeting sensors to try to compensate.
