This week, we will finish the repairs on the array and prepare to head back to Starbase 22, for R&R. This week, I had to remove LtJG Naba for inactivity. I'm actively recruiting a new Chief of Security, but if you have a friend that might be interested in the position - please encourage them to apply. Word of mouth is one of the best ways to recruit for a sim. Until next week: Captain Thompson ___________________________________________________________________ | W E E K I N R E V I E W | ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ Cmdr Dex'el received the communication from Lt Kryton about a possible time displacement bomb. Dex'el set a three way call between, the Captain and the Csci and himself. Dex'el moved out to get a safe distance from the array and called a yellow alert. Dex'el informed the fighter squadron about the package aboard the Vindicator and ordered them to guard the array. Finally he got a call from Ens Reid about disobeying a lawful order from the Commanding Officer. Dex'el informed the Captain on what happened between the Csci and Ens Reid. Lt Stadi found something interesting in the alpha core and called Lt Bishop down to the core level. Lt Stadi found that the Array seemed to be collecting mostly tactical information and was sending the data some where but he could not locate exactly where. Lt Bishop suggested the transceiver itself and Lt Stadi told Lt Bishop to take a look at the transceiver node. Lt Bishop went on down to the transceiver node and tried to access the computer which denied him access. Lt Bishop decided to bypass the computer and went directly to the data storage module connected to it with the tricorder and tried direct access. Lt Bishop feared a power blow out erase booby trap and saw surge spike as he disconnected the data storage module just in time to save. The blow caused damage to the transceiver shutting it down but it was repairable. Lt Bishop found as he recovered the data that the target coordinates had been changed a month ago to new ones that Lt bishop did not recognize. SSarg Redding sat at the consol and found that in the clearance of a bulkhead a life form was down below. Redding removed the bulkhead. The private shined a light down inside where optronic relays and eps plasma regulators where. In the back Redding spotted an animal with brown firry hair. He used his tricorder and it checked as a mammalian life form. Redding took a type two phasor and stunned the animal. He pulled it out and placed it on an inactive consol. Redding scanned it again and it appear to be a rodent similar to a vole. Redding called the vindicator and told them they found a life form on the array and sent the animal to science for further study. Redding then called Lcp Kennedy and told him to check for more of these animals. Lt Dudas set down looking at the sunset contemplated telling his wife what was on the padd and finally decided to tell her. He had gone into town to pick up mail and found his commission in Star Fleet had been reactivated and he was being sent to the USS-Vindicator as an Engineer and now he had to tell his wife. Dudus finally did and she packed his bags. Dudas told her she could stay at the place since she was a biologist and loved the outdoors. He picked up a hopper and headed off to the Vindicator. Lt (Jg) Erin Kryton-Vance received the call from SSarg Redding and set the coordinates and left the main lab for the bio Lab. After Erin got there the mammal materialized in the glass cage and Erin started a skeletal scan and an MRI and DNA scan. She observed the animal. It resembled a Cardasian Vole but had four legs instead of six legs and dark brown fur with a bat like head, a short neck and muscular body with a wide furry tail. Erin placed a containment field around the cage while the scan was running and told Ens Ellis to watch the animal and headed back to the main Lab. Captain Thompson interrogated Daimon Brin. Brin claimed that they had a cargo of stem bolts to deliver to the Krivaldi and the delivery was necessary or it would cause trouble with the Krivaldi economy. Thompson pointed out that their helmsman claim was inconsistent with their logs and the ferenge vessel was vectored on a different course than to the Vindicator and they were traveling at warp 7 and had at least a 1 light year warning. Thompson pointed out they had detected moycerite on board a very unstable mineral found on asteroids in quasar systems and contact with subspace fields and antimatter would increase yield of weapons using these principals several thousand times. Such weapons in the hands of the Krivaldi would kill federation citizens. Brin pointed out that was consistent with rule of acquisition 57. Customers were as rare as Latium. Treasure them and rule of acquisition 34, War is good for business. The Krivaldi wanted moycerite and Brin decided to supply it. Thompson returned Brin to his quarters under guard. Captain Thompson decided to send the moycerite information to fleet since the Krivaldi were probably upgrading weapons systems. Thompson was pleased that the array investigation was progressing and no marines were lost. Thompson noted a fighter fly by in the asteroid field and was glade that the squadron survived. Thompson's thoughts were interrupted by a communication from Commander De'xel. The Csci had found a possible time displacement bomb and they were moving away from the asteroid belt to eject the ferenge ship. Thompson called a meeting with Commander De'xel, Ensign Reid and Lieutenant Vance in the ready room. Cdt Vega brought his fighter into the ferenge crash area and scanned the debris for signs of moycerite and found none. The debris was the the usual type. Cdt Vega contacted the Vindicator Science Department and connected to Lt Kryton telling her he found nothing unusual and he then sent her his report. Cdt Vega then moved on to the Qualor Array noting the docked shuttle and half the fighters standing station keeping around the array. Cdt Vega heard the COM chatter about the Vindicator moving away to detonate a time displacement bomb. He wondered what the Krivaldi's next move would be. Captain Thompson called a conference with Commander Dex' el, Lt Vance and Ens Reid. Ens Reid felt that high energy scans had been used in scanning the ferenge ship by Science and that might be dangerous since they didn't exactly know what was on that ship. Lt Vance assured Ens Reid that no attempt was made to use high energy scans at this time only passive receive signatures were obtained. In this case the Lab had already made preliminary scans and the approximate location and the signatures suggesting antimatter and time effect particles were verified. Reid also felt there may be another sealed compartment. The Captain, Cmdr Dex'el, Ens Reid and Lt Vance discussed removal and demolition of the ferenge ship do to this new threat. After some deliberation the Captain decided to have Lt Vance remove the moycerite to a safe storage area and once the moycerite was gone have Ens Reid determine the mode of destruction of the ferenge ship. The Captain also decided to interrogate Daimon Brin a bit more about the new found bomb components. Captain Thompson was going to interrogate Daimon Brin but received a call from Lt Stadi. Stadi indicated that the scan protocols had been changed and now the Array was scanning for more ship detail than before: Shielding, geometry, and weapons systems. Lt Stadi was going to wipe out the rogue programming by flushing with the secondary core. The transmit location had been changed but as yet it was unknown. Lt Bishop was trying to determine that from the receiver logs. The Captain asked Lt Stadi to scan the array for DNA and finger prints. Lt Stadi made the scan and sent it to the Captain whom forwarded it to Lt Kryton in science. Lt Vance checked on Erin in the main lab and gathered SM Jones and the techs and went on down to the ferenge ship and removed 52 drums and containers from both right and left main holds in the ferenge ship. The techs also removed the loose ore due a collision puncture in the right hold. The moycerite was removed to and stored in one of Vindicators larger lead lined main holds and sealed and an external confinement field was applied. The hold was placed under guard by security. The techs and SM Jones went back to their current duties and Lt Vance beamed back to the main Lab to meet up with his wife Erin as her shift ended. LtJG Rhodes treated the wounded Ferengi and then returned to his quarters, where his possessions remained unpacked. He decided to take a shower and eat dinner. Cdt K'Eklyr monitered the situation on the Vindicator and the away team's progress carefully, while she patrolled the area. Lt Dudas made the trip to the Vindicator bearable by having a friendly conversation with the pilot of the shuttle. The shuttle decided to take him to the array and then return to Starbase 22. Lance Corporal Kennedy was speaking to a young and inexperienced Private Chalmers, who disregarded the former's rank and experience.
