Outstanding job! This week, we will continue the away mission and try to determine what to do about the bomb and why the Ferengi were so eager to avoid us. The away team will work on repairing the array. I have decided to move our logging deadline from 11:00 EST Sunday night to 2:00 EST Monday morning. It seems as though this will allow those last minute logs to help prevent unexcused absenses. Until next week: Captain Thompson ___________________________________________________________________ | W E E K I N R E V I E W | ŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻŻ Cdt K'Eklyr set half her squadron on rotation around the array and was to have the full presence of the squadron as the Engineers boarded the array. Cdt K'Eklyr observed the ferenge ship crash into the asteroid field and found it venting plasma. She received orders to toe the ferenge craft back to the Vindicator and hailed them to that effect and to offer no resistant but the hail was ignored and the fighters began to set up the toe anyway. Lt (JG) Zach Rhodes reported to Captain Thompson and the Captain checked over the Lieutenants orders and offered Zach the job of acting CMO for several months while the CMO was on leave. Zach was nervous but excepted the challenge. Auryn entered the shuttle and noted that Lt Stadi had already called in the marines. Auryn took his position at the ops station and he double checked the shuttle diagnostics and his phasor charge. Everything was ok. With the ferenge and Krivaldi ship near by it was a worry. SSarg Redding prepared the marines and entered with two squads and Major Perkins and Lcp Kennedy. Beta fleet CO Commo Evelyn Hawk called call Captain Acheson in and discussed a fleet change in command making Acheson CO and upgraded him to Commodore while Commo Hawk was going under ground to look into the Vanguard problems. Captain Thompson received a fleet communiqué that commander Nathan Acheson was now fleet commander and the news was unsettling. The ferenge vessel had been towed to the shuttle bay and Thompson was pleased with Cdt K'Ekylr. Captain Thompson ordered security to board and scan for more stuff than just moyerite. Thompson called ops officer Ens Reid to go with him down to the bay and investigate the ferenge ship in person. Lt Rhodes reported to med bay and obtained orders to send a team to the ferenge craft in the shuttle bay. Lt Rhodes nervously at first assembled a team and headed for the shuttle bay. There they reported in to take care of the ferenge wounded. Cdt Adam Vega heard the scramble order from the squadron Commander and headed into help with the towing of the ferenge ship but the area was difficult to get into do to other fighters already present. He noted that there was considerable channel talk about moyerite. Lt Stadi checked the array as the shuttle approached the array and noted it was possible that the array had been moved to its position by a tractor beam although an ion storm could have left a similar signature. The data as to a storm was not confirmable and the fact as to wither it was a storm or tractor beam remained unknown. The main power was down with the exception of life support and the marines were beamed over while Auryn docked the shuttle. After docking power was applied from the shuttle and the corridor lights were activated as the engineers boarded. While Erin and Jones were continuing to scan the ferenge ship Lt Vance took a quick look at a previous microbiology scan sample. He found that the recovered Callian bug had some unique abilities to adjust to environmental changes including shields. When time permits he will have Erin look at it in more detail. Major Perkins and the two squads materialized in the array station corridor. Perkins pulled up his tactical display PADD and pulled up the station schematics. He sent the second squad in tandem with the first at the bottom of corridor with Lcp Kennedy and himself. The second squad was to go up the starboard side and SSarg Redding was going with second squad. Lt Bishop made his way down the corridor to the primary consol station. Seconds later the station became active saving him the need for battery power since Stadi must have gotten some power restored. Lt Bishop rebooted the system and got the schematic display activated. He found that the fusion generators of the alpha computer node were still operating, all but the computer core itself had been cut off from the EPS grid. Lt Bishop found that the primary core was still active and that was the reason the secondary core had not activated. The problem was that most systems had been cut of from the core by the power down. The information was still being processed and sent to the transceiver and was being sent out. Then why was star fleet not getting data. This situation was extremely odd. Lt Bishop downloaded the control algorithms to his tricoder for further analysis before the system shut down in and overload. Lt Vance and Lt Kryton were called to the main science lab while SM Jones using the internal sensors scanned the ferenge vessel in the shuttle bay and discovered a sealed compartment in the hold which appeared to have a device stored that profiled with and illegal time displacement bomb. Lt Kryton informed Cmdr Dex on the Bridge of the situation. Captain Thompson carrying a phasor rifle and Ens Reid entered the shuttle bay and approached Lt Naba whom had security under control around the ferenge vessel. Lt Naba told them to stay back since moyerite had been spotted. The Captain and Reid complied. The vessel door opened and 4 ferenge came out including the Leader Daimon Brin. Brin told Thompson that they had tried to avoid a possible collision with the Vindicator and that the helmsman was new and had not slowed for asteroid field thus causing the crash. Thompson told Brin that Sick bay would take care of injured and they would see if ship could be repaired. The four ferenge were escorted to the captains ready room. Captain Thompson ordered security to place a guard around sick bay, the ready room , and the ferenge vessel. He then ordered the science department to do a complete scan on the vessel including tachyon scan for hidden storage. Lt Vance and Science Mate Jones headed for the shuttle bay to scan more closely the ferenge vessel upon the captains request. They entered the vessel and found a corridor in back of the lift in the hold that lead to a false door. Lt Vance finally succeeded in opening the door. Inside they found two powered devices battened to a table inside a force shield emitting a strong tachyon signal. Lt Vance informed the Captain. Lt Stadi, after some effort, was able to return power to one of the consoles in the array. He determined that the array had been sabotaged and he sent the information to Captain Thompson for further study. SSarg Redding explored the nodes to the right with his squad of marines. A marine saw something and fired precipitating a massive weapons burst from the whole squad. Redding ordered LCpl Kennedy to search the last node while he investigated. LCpl Kennedy searched the final node and then met up with Major Perkins. He was ordered to reinforce the perimeter. Lt Vance-Kryton determines that there is an explosive device on the Ferengi ship, based on his scans.
