Thompson notes the arrival of the task force and watches as the Eclipse leaves the system. LtCol Skulldron, to her dismay, obeys the order to disengage the Eclipse. Pvt Kennedy met LtJG Stadi as he was revived after being stunned when Engineering shifted hands back to the Vanguard. SSgt Redding takes the Vanguard that Lt Zyren had stunned and beams them to the ship. Kennedy and Redding reunited with Zyren and beamed back to the Vindicator. LtCmdr Dex'el and LtJG Vance communicated by Morse code. Once the Eclipse left the system, Dex'el sent all of the data about the Berkeley to LtJG Vance. With the Vanguard disabled, Ens Bishop was able to continue his efforts to bring the secondary computer core online on the Berkeley. LtJG Vance and Ens Kryton received the data from Dex'el and analyzed the damage sustained to the Berkeley. Kryton looked at Vance and wondered if he loved her. Vance returned the probes back to the Vindicator and then programmed a hologram in his office to share with Kryton. Not knowing of this program, Kryton herself went to the holodeck and began to enjoy the program. Ens Billard attacked the Vanguard intruders on the bridge, but was wounded in the attempt. Doctor Thane rescued several students from a classroom that was caught on fire from a defective bulkhead. Dex'el returned to the ship and helped the CMO rescue the children, before investigating the source of the fire. LtJG Stadi reported that the Berkeley was ready for the return trip to Starbase 22. Ensign Bishop's shower is interrupted by the fire, but he learns that the shipwide fire suppression system was damaged. Ens Turner reports for duty aboard the Vindicator to Capt. Thompson. He mans the helm during the battle, trying to evade Vanguard fire as the consoles explode all around him. On the holodeck, LtJG Vance and Ens Kryton spend time together and share their feelings, allowing time to pursue their relationship. Ens Borkovei determines that the torpedo that struck the Berkeley had been dormant from the Dominion War 30 years earlier.
