Planets of the Beta Rennar System

The Beta Rennar system is star system with 12 planets in it. The core of the system is a Type K Orange Star. This type of Star is a giant (1.65 times the size of Sol). The major issue with this system that makes it so difficult to deal with, is with two fully civilized cultures claiming residence within the system, three names (one Selay, one Antican, and one Federation Standard) have been given to each planet in the system. As a result, when each planet is described, the labels [S], [A], [FS] will be given to each name.

The first planet is the Class D type. Beta Rennar I [FS], Sssytic I [S], and Dakad [A] have been assigned as the designated names. This planet is intensely hot and very inhospitable to life.

The second planet is the Class F type. Beta Rennar II [FS], SssssK I [S], and Antico I [A] have been assigned as the designated names. This planet is much like BRI, hot dry, inhospitable of a planet. One of the only real features to speak of is a surprisingly large deposit of liquid latinum that was discovered several hundred feet below the surface of the planet. This planet has caused some fuss with the Ferengi Alliance.

The third planet is the Class M(J) type. There is only one designation to this planet called Beta Rena. This is the Selay homeworld and is a jungle based planet. Three major continents cover 50 percent of the planet and all three of them are covered in a heavy jungle type vegetation. Temperatures are considerably warmer due to the proximity of it to the sun.

The forth planet is the Class H type. Beta Rennar IV [FS], Beta Rena II [S], and Antico III [A] have been assigned as the designated names. This dry barren planet is one of the original locations that the Federation considered when setting up the colony. The planet is dry, without water and a breathable atmosphere. The Selay once believed one of their gods SSSSk was responsible for creating the entire system and resides on Beta Rena II to keep a close eye on his people.

The fifth planet is the Class J type. Beta Rennar V [FS], Beta Rena III [S], and Kerthury [A] have been assigned as the designated names. This sub-jovian class gas giant is smallest of the gas giants in the system. Despite this fact, it was discovered that 12 moons orbit the planet. Due to it's strategic location, the Selay and the Anticans both have used the upper levels of this gas giant to hide large fleets of vessels. As part of the peace treaty with the Selay and Antican's, both species were required to remove all fleets from this planet.

The sixth planet is the Class M(T) type. Like Beta Rena, this planet has one designation and it is called Antica. This is the Antican homeworld and it is a temperate planet, with a wide variety of life and environments. There are oceans, five major continents, arctic, jungle, plains, and even desert type environment. This planet most closely resembles an 'Earth-like' planet, though the temperatures, on average are 3o degrees cooler.

The seventh planet is the Class K type. Beta Rennar VII [FS], Sssresh I [S], and Vedeek [A] have been assigned as the designated names. This planet did once have an Antican colony on it, decades past, however the Selay managed to destroy it. This planet is being considered for terraforming.

The eighth planet is the Class J type. Beta Rennar IIX [FS], Sssresh II [S], and New Vedeek[A] have been assigned as the designated names. The Largest of the gas giants in the system, this planet has 33 moons around in as well as what appears to be it's own asteroid field.

The ninth planet is the Class J type. Beta Rennar IX [FS], Sssss [S], and Lopak [A] have been assigned as the designated names. Another sub-jovial gas giant, this planet has 12 moons around it.

The tenth planet is the Class T type. Beta Rennar X [FS], Ssstok I [S], and Nadarish [A] have been assigned as the designated names. The first of the ringed planets, the Antican's feel that the rings around the planets are extremely sacred and named this planet after the god Nadarish.

The eleventh planet is the Class T type. Beta Rennar XI [FS], Ssstok II [S], and Anticor I [A] have been assigned as the designated names. The second of the ringed planets. The Anticans religious organizations, this sacred planet was named after the great Hunter God, Anticor.

The last planet is the Class D type. Beta Rennar XII [FS], Ssstok III [S], and Anticor II [A] have been assigned as the designated names. This is a planetoid that is barely in the category of planetary classifications.

Natural Phenomona of the Beta Rennar System

The Beta Rennar "Cloud" is actually a large group of gaseous lifeforms that have collected up into a cloud. This cloud is movable and frequents many different systems, however, it tends to remain within the Beta Rennar system for reason not yet understood. Both the Selay and the Anticans have interpreted this to be the 'heaven' of their religious movements.

Renner Asteroid field is located between Beta Rennar VII and IIX. This large band of asteroids are caught in the suns gravity and act as a barrier between the two species and the rest of the universe.

Artificial Objects of the Beta Rennar System

Battle of Kerthury debris field is located near the planet fifth planet of the sector. Nearly a century ago, there had great battle of fleets in this area. Hundreds of ships on both sides were destroyed and abandoned. Neither side will allow the other to enter the field as they see it as an act of agression.

Beta Rennar Defense Grid -- This is a joint Starfleet/Antican/Selay network of 333 defensive satellites that orbit around the two civilized planets. These satellites are armed with Type III phasers and sensor packages that carry a very wide range of sensor scan abilities.
