Welcome to the newly commissioned USS Melbourne.

The Melbourne is one of the most advanced starships in the UCIP. This class of starship was created in response to the Breen Incursion into the Alpha Quadrant in late 2407 following the destruction of Melbourne's predessor, the Nova-Class Melbourne-C. Currently under the command of Lieutenant Commander Va'Lok, the Melbourne continues its primary mission... to explore the wonders of the galaxy.

The USS Melbourne has earned its place in UCIP history for, at least, the last ten years. It began by serving in the United Federation of Planets fleet (and this is confirmed by the 2399 simulation reports as the Melbourne-B. However, the Melbourne's association with Star Trek history goes further than that). That vessel was destroyed in Late 2402 and this vessel, the CSS Melbourne-C was commissioned in its place. That vessel was destroyed in late 2407 defending Maylor Prime from a Breen attack and the advanced Galaxy-Class Melbourne-D was constructed in its place. The Melbourne-D currently serves in the Alpha Quadrant in the Home Fleet Division of the UCIP.

The finest in its class, the Melbourne and her crew proudly and boldly go to the far corners of the much uncharted Beta and Delta Quadrants to seek out the mysteries that await.
