Omega Fleet is changing to Starfleet Security. It will include Starfleet Special Forces as well as Starfleet Intelligence. Section 31 will also remain in this new incarnation.
To the members of SFS (Formally Omega Fleet) and the rest of UCIP who want to read this,
Over the past month Omega Fleet has been working and developing a more open and wider ranging scope of simming that will allow us as a fleet to develop more and explore different areas and also on a larger scale allow us to interact with other fleets and SIMs when possible. In complete agreement from UFP Command and more importantly the members of Omega Fleet the progress and development of this idea has become a great success and looks to provide for a bright future in simming.
On SD240608.21 Omega Fleet will cease to exist on an OOC level and ICly we will no longer solely be the SSF. From both an OOC and IC perspective we shall be known as Starfleet Security, the branch of Starfleet tasked with the protection of Starfleet and the Federation and maintaining its integrity from hostile forces. It is also important to note here that while not a Subfleet with set territory SFS retains all the rights and privileges of Subfleets. Under this umbrella heading will be several departments and then two large branches, the first of these is the SSF which will continue to run as it currently does and has since its creation and the latter of these is the SFI. SFI will remain as it is now, albeit with some form of structure and the command of this played by SFS staff members, open for all to use as freely as the wish.
The IC changes from Omega to SFS will occur shortly after the OOC admin is put into place and settled. After this will come Fleet Simming. Also please be aware of the following information:
– the main email list for all members of SFS.
– the fleet level sim list for SFS.
– the list where reports are sent.
– the command list.
– the list for all command teams in SFS.
Please note that this was a simple renaming of the old omega lists so no re-subscription is necessary.
Also please note that the new web address is www.ucip.org/sfs and the new website will come online soon.
Along with all these changes I would also like to welcome Starbase Hephaestus to the fleet, Hephaestus is an exciting new simming prospect that will be the pioneer for inter-fleet simming and relations as well as exploring the roles and work of the SFS.
In conjunction with this the USS Victory sim will be going through a small period of redevelopment as it changes into a stealth ship for Starfleet Intelligence.
