Announcement by the UFP Division Commander to the group:
As many of you will have already heard, over the last several months UFP's COs and subfleet staff have been discussing the development of a new promotion policy. The aim of which is to be more stringent in its requirements to ensure that those senior SIMmers on each SIM are truly benefiting the SIM and helping along our newer members.
In real terms the new policy makes few great changes. The amount of time needed to get a promotion remains roughly the same and the general expectations that already existed in many places are now firmed up as part of the policy. A good SIMmer who attends or logs regularly and who is a positive influence on the SIM and its newer members will not see any change in their promotion prospects under the new document.
After such a long period of development it has been decided to put this new policy into a medium term trial that begins this weekend and stretches until August. During that time any problems with it will be ironed out before it is put into practice in the longer term when the trial is over.
It is recommended that all UFP SIMmers review the new policy to be aware of the changes in promotion requirements. The new document can be found here.
