Greetings,

The UCIP Staff, in conjunction with GalileoAce, have been working hard these past few months to develop a Communities Department.

The Communities Department, which is attached to the Presidential Office in a supporting role, will be responsible for the creation, upkeep and ongoing development of UCIP’s OOC Community. This will include an MMO group to have UCIP Groups within popular online RP games, such as EVE and the new StarTrek:Online game. We already have a very strong UCIP group going for STO, which Communities will support.

There will also be gaming groups for people who like to play Bridge Commander, StarTrek Armada, Star Wars: Empire At War, etc. There will be other programs and groups formed depending on our needs as an organisation.

The idea behind this will be to improve our OOC links as well as just holding superb SIMs, so that we all feel part of something special.

The Dept will be headed up by GalileoAce, and anyone who works for this Dept, won’t have it included in their staff position count. Its essentially a free position within UCIP. So existing UCIP Staff can opt to work in it, if they so choose without having to resign their current billet.

There will be a call for applications for the Deputy of this Department in the next day or so, and I hope to see lots of applications.
