Biography:
Shane was born on Earth in 2377. His parents were Ambassador John Guzman and Doctor of Science Amily Guzman. Both were in service of the Federation but they has a rather despect for Starfleet.
Shane was a lively child. Always ready for some mischief, he earned the usual amount of broken legs and arms. At the age of 6 - the young Shane developed a taste to music, especially the violin. He was always interested in the secrets of the nature as well. He explored the river near his parents house and all the hills around half a day march. In the age of 7 he wanted to become a cowboy of the wild west like 'brave man' in the Earth's 19 century.
His parents choose a carrier for him early enough. He should became a musician or a scientist. Ideal would be to become a musical scientist. Shane had no choice but to attend music courses and learn 'about the secrets of the universe' from his parent's library.
In his teenage Shane became more and more a rebel. Like the most of teenagers he thought to knew everything better than his parents. His teenage was happy but sometimes he conflicted with the wishes of his parents.
At the age of 19 began the young Shane to think different about his future. No longer attracted by music or science, he left home for a voyage around the neighboring star systems. He learned a much about the rougher side of live and about living without the protective hands of his parents. After his return to Earth he had a very bad conflict with his parents concerning his future. Shane wanted to join the Starfleet but his parents strongly disagreed. Nevertheless ... Shane made up his mind and joined the Academy.
At the academy he developed some relations to medical but his dreams were always to command a starship. He decided to study for a tactical officer. He was a quite an average student many other activities. As the chance offered he joined one experimental class on the academy. The class should prepare a few multi class officers for long journeys on dedicated starships like the old Oberth or Nova class ships. Finally he graduated in the fields of tactical and medical assistant.
At Star date 240301.30 he was transferred to the Huge Mir Class station 742: Aurora as ATAC. During his stay on the station he made several friends bur also some enemies. He was promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade and CTAC on star date 240303.01 by Captain Karen McElester. Shane found himself very enjoying the work on the station as well the whole atmosphere on it. Those were Shane's sweet times in space.
He met a young medical officer, Cdt. Rangi Summers and the couple fell in love with each other. There were and still are some disturbances in their relationship, but their love was always a very strong one
During a short time period, Shane was assigned as Temporary CTAC to the eclipse class starship USS Falcon. On this dangerous mission involving the Tholians, Shane earned a few scars but was rewarded with several medals for his deeds in duty as well.
After some personal problems with his Aurora superiors, Shane accepted the position of the Executive officer on the Interpid class ship: USS Chimera at SD 240308.12 . He discovered too late that the Chimera is a SFF (Intel) ship in Omega Fleet. Not too happy about been a part of SSF ... Shane tried his best to 'grow' for the XO position.
During the Jitessa mission Shane made some progress in getting the 'feeling' to be an XO. His relation with his CO, Colonel Bretam slowly improved and both man began to trust each other.
On other missions Shane was forced to take command for short time periods of Bretam's absence, but found out that the Chimera was Bretam's place and without him it just wasn't the same.
After a dangerous mission involving subspace experiments and bloodthirsty subspace aliens Colonel Bretam promoted Shane on an cheery Party to Full Commander. Unexpected but welcome ... Shane was very happy about the rank he thought he would never reach.
Another chapter in Shane's life opened as the ship's CO, BGeneral Bretam wet on LOA and Shane was appointed to Acting CO. The Chimera was ordered to a diplomatic mission outside the federation territory, but the mission turned swiftly to a more dangerous one, including battles with Romulan War birds and bloodthirsty cyborg creatures called the Kzenti. Solving the conflict the best he could, the Chimera returned to SB Bragg where at last BGeneral Bretam assumed command once again.
During the X!Chi mission involving time traveling Shane changed a bit due to spending two days in an alternate timeline seeing too much death and pain. He's grown more determined, sometimes even fierce. During the mission the Chimera was destroyed and after this mission General Bretam was forced to step down from the post of CO of the USS Chimera and SSF Command appointed Shane for this position. Effective SD 240510.15 Shane assumed command over the crew and a bit later over the USS Chimera-A a shiny new Katana class vessel.
After just two missions in the seat of Chimera CO's seat, Shane was promoted to Captain. His record was a bit scratched by a mutiny attempt during the "DREAMS HOTEL" events, but nonetheless ... Shane is still in charge of the Chimera.
Shortly after his promotion, SSF Command charged the Chimera with a dangerous mission concerning an alien artifact able to create dimension rifts and a possible conflict between SSF and SFI that was created by a distortion by Romulan Tal'shiar.
The next mission of investigating the disappearance of three other federations vessel in the Spinward march turned to a disaster for the Chimera-A. Like other Intel forces from Romulan and Cardassia, the Chimera crashed on the LOST planet. The crew solved the problem but many of the crew lost their lives.
Shane was entrusted with the Command and a prototype starship class - Chimera call (formerly known as Behemoth class) a huge battle ship, designed to face the most dangerous missions. During the maiden cruise the entity known as 'Q' played with some of the crew one of his games, this time in the J.R.R. TOLKIEN's fantasy world.
During Chimera's next assignment, Shane was seriously injured and while his crew did her best to protect the Vice President of the Federation from an assassination attempt, Shane was unconscious for almost a week. This event let him think about his future and as soon as Starfleet Command offered him a promotion and a fleet liaison position, he accepted both of them, leaving the Chimera in the capable hands of ACmdr. Bren Ohmsford and Cmdr. Rangi Summers.
After some power struggles in Starfleet Command and differences between SF HQ and Shane, he was reassigned to SSF Liaison for USS Chimera, what limited Shane's influence outside the Chimera greatly.
During Chimera's mission into an another universe, Shane met his double - on board the double USS Chimera (galaxy class). During the final battle, he witnessed the death of double Rangi and since his double was killed as well ... Shane did his best to keep their son - Martin Guzman on board the 'real' Chimera and returned with him into his own universe. After some legal struggles, Rangi and Shane became legal guardians of Martin.
Just after the return into the 'real' universe, Shane was assigned as SSF 1st taskforce Commander. The taskforce consists of 25 ships, including the Chimera. For personal use, Shane became a Defiant class ship - USS Qashqai, which was attached to the USS Chimera.
Medical Information:
240305.11 ... died for 2,5 minutes due to heart failure, but was relieved by Dr. Ina Letudie.
Other Notes:
Shane is an open minded and friendly person. He finds it easy to make new friends. In contrast to that he had always problems to get a girlfriend. He is eager in his work and often works 12 hours a day. At the moment he is totaly fallen in love with Rangi Summers.
