Biography:
Helen Cahira was born in New Dallas, Deneva colony. She is the youngest daughter of Glenn Thomas Cahira and Dana Joy Cahira. She has an older sister, Dr. Anna Cahira, who is a member of the Deneva Medical Council.
Her father, Glenn Cahira was a competitor in the sport of Anbo-Jyutsu, taking part in tournaments across Devena for 18years before retiring to open his own school. Her mother, Dana Cahira, was a successful lawyer and later local politician.
Helen's childhood was spent in her fathers Martial Arts school while her mother was away at work, and although attention was paid to her 'standard' education, she was always most happy when training with her father and his students and fighting. Perhaps the only part of her schooling that she did enjoy was history, more interestingly, military history. It was perhaps because of this that she jumped at the opportunity to become a civilian hand-to-hand combat instructor at Starfleet academy at the age of 23.
After working with cadets for several years Helen herself decided that she wanted to officially enlist after reading an article about a Marine battle against pirates. Helen enlisted in the Starfleet Marine Corps and after completing basic training, entered the officer program.
