Welcome to the USS Charon |

 Let me be the first to welcome you aboard the USS Charon, a Luna Class deep space exploration vessel assigned to furthest reaches of space. I am Commodore Shiarrael Rehu, Commanding Officer of the USS Charon and a former Romulan Commander- it’s a long story so I’ll save it for later. My Executive Officer is Lieutenant Commander Ch'Tan Foster, he’s half Klingon and we have our disagreements but I wouldn't trade him for all the gold pressed latinum on Ferenginar.
We are currently on a two year joint exploration mission beyond the farthest edge of Romulan space. Hopefully we’ll find some new and exciting things, but between us, I wouldn’t mind a few skirmishes here and there.
Oh, and I know I have a reputation for being quite the ‘nut buster’ as our security personnel would say. It’s all true, but only if you irritate me. I expect the best from everyone. If you have any questions feel free to contact me or my Executive Officer. Hopefully you’ll find this website useful.
Last month wasn’t our worst month but it also wasn’t the best. A large part of that was due to my absence and sickness. However, I’m better now so I’m pushing the plot forward this month! So far things look like they getting back on track.
 I’ve fully updated the website and I am currently in the process of updating and overhauling the crewiki. I encourage all members to keep their crewiki profiles updated and if you need help contact the command team!
Sim information aside, this Friday the new Star Trek movie opens in US theaters. I am looking forward to the new movie; however, I’d like to remind everyone that we do have members of the sim who do not live in the US. So remember not to spoil the movie for your fellow crewmembers!

 Detecting a massive warp signature on long range sensors the Charon moves to investigate and discovers the source to be a planet moving at warp 1.5. Amazed by the scene the Commodore decides to have the Charon move in for a closer look. As the Charon moves into an orbital pattern an optical transmission from the planet is detected.
After using the deflector dish to receive the transmission they discover that the planet is inhabited by a species called the ‘Lyrillians.’ The head of Lyrillians identifies himself as the Grand Proctor Ohoni. The grand proctor asks if the ‘teachers’ sent the Charon to their planet. Shiarrael informs him that they were not sent by the ‘teachers’ and the grand proctor invites the crew to the planet for a face to face meeting. The commodore agrees to the request. However, something doesn’t feel right about the situation. Commander Ceer mentions the use of a primitive form of optical communication. ‘How can a species advanced enough to move a planet at warp not have subspace communication available?’
Are the Lyrillians hiding something from the crew of the Charon and who are these ‘teachers’ the grand proctor mentioned? |
