Turhai

An insectecoid species existing beyond the eastern border of the Rihannsu Star Empire. The Turhai were briefly encountered by the Federation in 240309 when a vessel of theirs attacked Trilista Colony, masquerading as a Borg cube. (Among the defending ships were the USS Resolution, USS Neptune, and USS Rutherford.)

Despite receiving heavy losses, Federation units, operating with tacit support from Rihannsu Commander-General Khre'Riov Conn'Hae, were able to repulse the attempted invasion of the system SL-3591. There has been no further reported contact with the species since.

Technology

Thanks to the capture of a Turhai fighter by the crew of the USS Resolution, it is known that the Turhai prefer to utilize automated drone pilots rather than live crew. The reason for this remains unknown.
