Regulus

Regulus (or Alpha Leonis) is a main sequence star (spectral class B7 V) and primary of the Regulan system, located 77.5 light-years from Sol. It is the brightest star in the constellation Leo, and has two stellar companions (spectral classes K1-2V and M5V).

In the 2150s, Regulus was located inside Vulcan territory, near the Andorian border. In 2154, for the preemptive strike against Andoria planned by Administrator V'Las, the Vulcan High Command amassed a fleet of 12 cruisers at Regulus. Regulus was chosen because it lay outside the range of Andorian listening stations. (ENT: "Kir'Shara")

Regulus means "the little king" in Latin. Regulus was mentioned as a small note on a very large star chart graphic created for TNG: "Conspiracy." It was the image behind the chair in the room where Dexter Remmick was killed. It appears to be located within an outlined block, which may indicate that it was surrounded or was even a part of Federation territory at the time.
