Biography

Philip Carlson was raised on Starbase 50, the son of the Chief Medical and Chief Science Officers on that Starbase. Growing up, he knew that he wanted to attend Starfleet Academy, but it was only a question of what he study while there. In school, he showed a talent for social science and writing. He became an intern for Judge (Captain) Solmak, a respected Starfleet judge and legal mind. At the urging of Solmak, he applied for the Judge Advocate General Corps after being accepted to Starfleet Academy. He completed the JAG coursework and passed the final bar exam in 2391.

Upon completion of the exam, he was assigned as a Public Defender at SB 120, defending civilians and Starfleet officers from criminal charges for the civilian magistrate. After several years of service in this role, he was transferred to Starbase Montgomery as an Assistant Prosector. Finally, he was transferred to Starbase 22 as the Fleet JAG officer.

Carlson is a talented litigator, with substantial trial experience. His zeal for justice sometimes compromises his judgement as he questions witnesses during the proceedings. He considers his service to be in representing Starfleet fairly and impartially.
