An alien species encountered by the crew of the U.S.S. Resolution in 240605. Utilizing a telepathically-manipulative probe, a small device constructed by artificial means was able to successfully take over the consciousness of Lt. Cmdr. Neel Maklaud, and guided the vessel through the Versailles wormhole.

After a breakdown in diplomatic communication between the crew of the Resolution and a Lhirr delegation, the ship came under fire from a previously-undetected Lhirr heavy cruiser. Despite a successful escape, the Federation vessel sustained heavy damage that necessitated repairs at Starbase 1 in Earth orbit.

Security Advisory

Starfleet Intelligence advises that Federation ships are to avoid contact with units of the Imperial Lhirr of the Lhirr wherever found. They are to be considered armed and extremely dangerous, judging by the failure of diplomatic negotiations, as well as evidence to support a species-wide behavior of forcible annexation of territory, and extermination of the subject populace.
