Basic SIMGuide

IRC Training
This Course trains Cadets in the skills and information they will need to be able to SIM in UCIP. The process involves reading the Basic SIMGuide, and undertaking a Comprehensive Examination via email. The purpose of the examination is to ensure that the student has read the Basic SIMGuide. Following completion of the Comprehensive Exam, the student will have to either attend a Training SIM, or take an EMail Practical Exam. The student will be evaluated on their SIMming skills.

Command Control


This is a course for officers who want to become Top Command personnel. The Command Course teaches skills important for holding positions of responsibility and authority over other officers. Students will also learn about command procedures and protocols within UCIP.
 
Prerequisite:
  • Senior Officer's Training
Restricted To:
  • Lieutenant Commander (or Equiv) Rank OR
  • Lieutenant (or Equiv) Rank with a (Subfleet) CO's letter of recommendation BUT
  • Open for all XO's and CO's, with a supporting letter from Subfleet or Division

Flight Control
Flight School trains Cadets in the basics of flying tactical auxiliary craft. Pilots from Starfleet's Naval and Marine branches are trained in the instruments and fighters of today's Starfleet.

This course covers the Special Operations aspect of Starfleet. Much like the Navy SEALs of the 20th century, First Force Operates in small Teams. This course will get you ready to enter a Team and start your career as an Operator.

Combined Medical Studies

Medical personnel on a ship/base oversee the health and physical safety of the all aboard. Those training in the field of medicine usually select an alien physiology to specialize in other than their own. Students taking the Medical course become trained in the use of medical equipment and medicines.

Advanced Engineering Studies
Engineering personnel provide the necessary repair and upkeep of equipment aboard ship. It is suggested that prospective Engineers select one (or more) Engineering skills to specialize in because the Confederation encourages research and development of newer and better systems.

Senior Officer Training Course
 
The Senior Officer Training course is the foundation and cornerstone for the Command Course, and is designed to assist department heads in running their departments. it is an important class for all officers, because it introduces the rudiments of command, and addresses some of the issues that simmers wanting to command will face.

Advanced Science Studies
This course is to spark the student's interest in discovering how our worlds all came to be, the origins of and the future of the universes around us. Various areas of science and cosmology will be touched on during this course. Most of the facts are known or speculated on by today's scientific community. As more details are discovered, this course will be updated to reflect the increased knowledge.

Combined Law Studies
Starfleet's Judge Advocates are responsible for the investigation, prosecution, and defense of the men and women officers and enlisted in Starfleet. In addition, Starfleet Judge Advocates assist in the development and ratification of treaties and act as legal advisors to members of the Admiralty. This course will teach Cadets about the legal system and the laws of UCIP.

Operational Control
This is the course for Cadets who wish to pursue advancement in the command line fields of the Confederation. The course provides an interface between the day-to-day normal activities of the crew on board ship and the command personnel. Operations personnel study a program designed to give them a working knowledge of all other divisions in the Confederation. Upon completion of the course, students will earn the Operational Control Ribbon.
